Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee: Berry Bliss

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee

Hello Ladies,
This will be a review of an IMBB sponsored product- Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in the shade “Berry Bliss”
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee
About The Product:
Josie says:
What it is: Coconut water: it’s not just for yoga class anymore. Combined with another skin-quenching elixir, Argan Oil, it adds up to a deliciously dewy blush that gives you the natural look of a cream and the hydration and staying power of a gel. We’re talking up to 14 hours of color and hydration—really, we tested it. In six buildable shades of flushed, fresh gorgeousness.

Why I love it: I wanted a blush that builds to a natural-looking flush without giving me Raggedy Ann cheeks. I found the answer in pure Coconut Water, which I drink to make my skin glow and my hair shine. And it’s easy to apply using my favorite tool: my fingers.

What’s in it: Talk about hydrating: This Cheek Gelée is 50% pure Coconut Water: Add 100% Pure Argan Oil for blendability and Vitamin-E-drenched nourishment.

What’s not in it: Parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances. Why mess with a good, natural thing?

How I use it: I love to blend it in with my fingertips, but you can also use a brush. The best part: you can effortlessly build each shade to be as delicate or vibrant as you want.
Price : $22 but I got it at a discounted price during the Black Friday sale.

My Experience with Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee

I am loving this product and have been using in non-stop every time I do my makeup. Yes it is that Amazing and Addictive and I am completely hooked on this product.

First of all I love using blushes. I love how they brighten up the face and impart a very innocent pretty look to the face. So let’s sum up the review of this product in categories.

Packaging:
The product comes in small glass tub with a screw cap on. The cap is very sturdy and screws on very securely. Though it is scary to take a glass tub with you while travelling the glass pot is actually very thick and sturdy and will withstand small bumps while rolling around your makeup bag though it will not survive if you happen to drop to from a height.

Texture:
If you look at the pics you can see just how beautiful, shiny and delicious looking it is. The moment I opened the packaging I knew I had to take pics of this untouched for the review first. The texture of this is very different from regular creme blushes. While creme blushes usually contain mineral oil which makes them very slick and thinner up to a consistency that you will almost be able to scope out the product. This Cheek gelle is very firm gel yet it is soft to touch. It will not leave a dent in the product unless you really press your finger in it really hard. To take some product of your finger to have to swirl it around to get the desired amount.

Colour:
This product comes in 6 different shades ranging from the very lightest pinks to the warm reds and browns. I decided to go with the shade” Berry Bliss” because firstly I do not own a berry colored blush and thought it would be interesting look to try on and also Berry is such a fall/winter colour and am glad I went with such a deep color because this product applies so shear that if I had gone with a lighter shade it might have not showed up on me.
This blush when applies feels so smooth and sinks right into the skin imparting a very natural dewy look on the face. Unlike with some crème blush or stain with which you have to work very quick or it will set, with this product you can truly take your time and blend it in. The more you blend the more natural it looks. The color does feel like it is complementing your skin and not covering it up. Your natural skin can still be seen through the blush it has that quality of being a little translucent. It’s like looking through a stained glass.

Also with creme blushes the main ingredient in them being Mineral oil has a tendency to sometimes irritate sensitive skin or clog pores. This product claims to have real coconut water and argan oil hence I feel that even oily skinned girls would like it. It has a very light subtle scent with disappears once it is applied.

It does impart a dewy glow finish to the skin which I think looks very natural but if you are just opposed to having shine on you face you can dab some pressed powder on it and it does take away some but not all of the shine.

The color is very buildable and the more you apply the deeper the color gets but even with multiple layers it still retains its translucency and does not look to heavy . It can also be used as a lips stain as it gives a very light tint to the lips without feeling greasy or sticky at all.

Staying Power:
The staying power is impressive. It looked freshly applied on me for 5-6 hours after which it starts to fade faintly. But if you happen to wear a primer underneath or top it off with little powder this product will last you all day long till you happen to remove it.
The product does wash off easily with even just regular face wash and water and does not leave stain on the skin after it is removed.
Overall A perfect product. Will rate it 5/5 .
