Jovan Silky Rose Cologne Spray Review

Hope you all are doing great. Like every girl, I also love using a nice fragrance every day, be it in the form of EDP, EDT, Cologne, Deodorants or Body Mist. So while coming back from Dubai, when I had some time in hand at the airport, I did what any girl would normally do, that is indulging in some duty free shopping. Other than the high-end brands, Dubai’s Duty Free also has a good variety of drugstore brands to shop from. And while doing some chocolate shopping in a duty free shop, I came across Jovan Silky Rose Cologne Spray. I saw many variants there, which are not available in India and then when I saw that this was voted ‘Product Of The Year Gulf 2013’, and then I had to give it a try.

Price:

Almost $10 to $12 is what I paid (not sure now).

What Product Claims:

Revel in the opulence of Silky Rose, a captivating floriental fruity fragrance.

At the top, spicy rose unites with earthy patchouli leaves and crisp redcurrant to intrigue the senses. This enticing fusion gives way to a bouquet of opulent rose, orange flower and jasmine nectar, which gently lifts and intrigues. Finally, the woody oriental trail reveals a seductive blend of golden amber, vanilla woods and sensual musk.

My Experience with Jovan Silky Rose Cologne Spray:

Jovan Silky Rose Cologne Spray when sprayed on skin smells very sweet and flowery. The sweetness fades slowly giving way to more rosy smell with a hint of woody note. But most of the time, it’s the rose smell which is dominating, other fragrance notes which are described are hard to notice. For people who like light fragrance this might also smell like ittar to them, like for my mom when she smelled this she felt it smells close to rose ittar, but I did not feel the same. I like strong fragrances and I feel though it’s a rose dominant flowery fragrance, still it’s not overwhelming like ittar.

This is apt for day as well as night wear and flowery smell lovers will like it more. T=Its more suitable for the festival season and formal occasions. I see myself using it often with ethnic wears.

However, I wish the staying power would have been better. It stays for just 4-5 hours on me, which is not so great, as I have used body mists and deodorants in past which stays longer than this. It comes in the classic Jovan EDT glass bottle with golden prints on it, nothing very fancy here. For this price this is a great choice for rose fragrance lovers. I recommend this to everyone looking for a good flowery fragrance on budget.

• Staying power could have been better.
• If you are not fond of rose fragrance, you might not enjoy this so much.
