Jovees Ginger and Honey Lip Balm

Hi everyone,

Today, I am sharing my first product from Jovees. I don’t find any jovees product near my place so I haven’t tried any of their products. Sometime back, a local store had a lot of new products and these lip balms were also there. I checked out the price and it was affordable so bought it to give it a try. And moreover, the ginger and honey combination was new to me, so here I am to share the Jovees lip balm in ginger and honey.

Product description: JOVEES Lip Balm offers complete Lip Care with a specially developed formula that contains pure almond and olive extracts along with natural Vitamin A, B, C and E. This unique formula soothes and conditions the delicate lip area, restores moisture and brings shine and happiness. An excellent recipe for dull, dry and chapped lips.

Active Ingredients: Honey, Ginger, Almond oil, Jojoba oil, Olive oil, Wheat germ oil.

Quantity: 5 gm

Packaging: The jovees lip balms earlier had a white case cover packaging, now it comes in a green cover case with the name Jovees printed on the lip balm tub. I don’t prefer tub packaging for lip balms as they are messy and unhygienic.

My take on Jovees Ginger and Honey Lip Balm:

The lip balm in the tub is a pretty sheer orange colour. When applied on the lips, it comes out very sheer and gives no colour to the lips. The smell of ginger and honey is mild and reminds me a lot of some organic lip balm. The combination of ginger and honey for a lip balm is what I liked about the product. Ginger has great exfoliating properties and I have used foot scrubs with ginger and all of us know honey for so many good properties. The lip balm has a mild ginger fragrance, it does not bother me when I apply it on my lips. The lip balm exfoliates and moisturizes lips well. The consistency of the lip balm is very liquidy, so it tends to smear out of the lips which I don’t like. It is not too greasy and it did work well on me in the summers. However, now as it is lesser hot and with winter approaching, it does not moisturize really well. I don’t think it is a good product for winters.

Please excuse my lips, I had severe allergy because of some medication.

Pros of Jovees Ginger and Honey Lip Balm:

• Light weight and non greasy
• Hydrates and moisturizes well for summers
• Ginger properties do not sting, it is quite soft on lips.
• Lasts on me for about 2-3 hours
• Affordable

Cons of Jovees Ginger and Honey Lip Balm:

• Hygiene is a big issue with tub based packaging
• It will not work for severe dry and chapped lips.
• This lip balm will not work well for winters.

Repurchase and recommendation: Yes, I don’t mind trying other lip balm flavors from Jovees as it was not totally disappointing. It comes in a very affordable price and it averagely moisturizes. I recommend it to you if you like the flavor of the lip balm and if you are on a tight budget.
