Today, I am reviewing a product that we don’t care much about until we really feel the need to use it! I am talking about an eye cream.

My take on Jovees Herbal Witch Hazel & Almond Eye Contour Cream:
I have been trying to find my perfect eye cream since I turned 30 last year. I do not suffer from dark circles or undereye wrinkles, but I wanted to include an eyecream as a preventive measure. Also, I can notice fine lines when I look closely into the mirror. So, I believe now is the perfect time to use one.
This cream comes in sleek 20-g tube. For application, there is a slender nozzle tip. The nozzle tip makes the use very neat and easy as it gives you a control over how much product you want to dispense out on your undereye area. Also, it is really helpful in spot application, as the cream comes out in tiny dots.
This cream is thick and really moisturizing. It absorbs in a jiffy and does not leave any oiliness-greasiness behind (I am not sure about summers though). I use four dots on each undereye area and two each on the eyelids, as I have darker eyelids. It gives the appearance of firmer undereye skin. After application, one can feel instant smoothness. The cream also doesn’t sting my sensitive eyes, the most important thing for any eyecream (the Olay regenerist one stings badly in my case).
I started using this cream in first week of February. I use it only at bedtime, as in the morning I use FE undereye gel. As I don’t suffer from the heavy dark-circle problem, I can’t comment on its effectiveness in that area. My dark eyelids are still the same, no change there! But it does reduce puffiness. My eyes look more rested now.
This product lists some really good active ingredients! You have witch hazel, carrot oil, nutmeg oil, and all. But I don’t seem to understand this concept of a partial ingredient list. I mean we all want to see the complete list even if we don’t read it all the time while making a purchase, right? 😛 When I told my mom about the carrot and almond oils present here, she said, “Then you better start drinking carrot juice and eating almonds; the results will be long lasting too!!!”
But keeping everything else apart, I think this is a decent eye cream if you don’t have too many eye-related issues to deal with. Also, dark circles and wrinkles depend on other factors too, including your sleep patterns, and lifestyle habits. So, just buying an eyecream can’t be your only solution.
I would like to mention here that I have also used the Votre eye cream, and Jovees is definitely better.
What I loved about Jovees Herbal Witch Hazel & Almond Eye Contour Cream:
- A light moistursizing undereye cream.
- Absorbs readily; doesn’t leave any oiliness behind; doesn’t sting.
- Reduces puffiness.
- Apt packaging.
What I didn’t love much about Jovees Herbal Witch Hazel & Almond Eye Contour Cream:
- Not widely available.
- Full ingredient list missing.
Would I repurchase Jovees Herbal Witch Hazel & Almond Eye Contour Cream?
No, I’ll look for something better in summers. But this is a highly recommended budget buy.
