I am back again with another product review. This time it is a scrub. I have used some products from this brand such as the Jovees Cucumber Skin Toner and found it quite good. So, when the next time I saw this scrub lying at my sister’s place couldn’t wait to try it as the words “ultra gentle” caught my fancy. I have combination skin which is prone to acne and very harsh scrubs do not work for me. However, a little harshness is necessary in the scrub so that it helps remove the blackheads.
So here is what the company says about the product.
Product Description: Oily and sensitive skin needs special cleaning. This gentle scrub contains fine Jojoba beads & wheat germ oil along with other botanical nutrients that cleans the skin, removes excessive oil &dull skin cells without rupturing the skin. It also helps to improve skins elasticity and suppleness.
Method of Use: Moisten face and neck. Apply jojoba & wheat germ scrub all over face & neck. Massage gently with finger tips for 2-3 minutes using light circular strokes. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Follow with Jovees aloe vera moisturising lotion.
Active Ingredients: Jojoba, Wheat germ, Neem Extract & Date
Shelf Life: 3 years
Price: INR 170 for 100 gms.

My Experience with Jovees Jojoba & Wheat Germ Face Scrub Ultra Gentle
The scrub comes in a see through plastic tube, which is quite travel friendly. The size is not huge to be difficult to carry in your bag. The flip open green coloured cap also fits well. The cap is not hard to work with and is still sturdy enough. The see through tube lets one know how much product is still left.
The scrub is transparent with different colour beads from white to orange. The white ones are smaller and higher in number in comparison to the orange ones. The tube seems to be half empty and seems like a lot of product must have been used. In fact, me, my sister, her friend, my mom all of us have tried working with this scrub but it turns out to be a total failure.
The scrub beads are way too gentle on the skin and you don’t feel that you are using a scrub so the product claims of getting rid of oily and dull skin stand fail here. The scrub is also way too oily, it feels sticky on the skin and getting rid of it needs a lot of water splashes on your face.
I have tried using it as a face wash as well, however, there too it fails to deliver any results. The claim of restoring the suppleness of the skin along with elasticity is also false. It feels like a layer of oil has been added to your face.
Listing down the pros and cons of the product:
Pros of Jovees Jojoba & Wheat Germ Face Scrub Ultra Gentle:
- Sturdy packaging
- Travel friendly
- Long shelf life
Cons of Jovees Jojoba & Wheat Germ Face Scrub Ultra Gentle:
- Does not deliver what it claims
- Makes skin greasy
- Does not work on any type of skin
The face wash does not deliver any one point from the long list of claims and has been lying around since long for the same. Sensitive skin needs gentle cleansers and scrubs but this one is way too gentle and leaves an oily mask on the skin. How is a product supposed to be suitable for oily skin if it leaves an oily mask on your face. I would not recommend any skin type to try this product. It seems to turn out waste of money for us.
