Jovees Papaya Face Wash Review

Skin type: Fair, Oily, Sensitive

Greetings girls!

I am majorly obsessed with face washes, it’s that skin care item that I can’t do without. My oily and problematic skin needs to be tended to very lovingly, or it behaves like a spoiled child! Cleansing is the most essential part of my routine, and I keep experimenting with face washes. Today, I will be reviewing Jovees Papaya Face Wash.

Product Description:
This face wash produced by combining the properties of papaya, as it is an excellent source of Vitamin A and Papain. Vitamin A acts as an antioxidant, while the papain breaks down inactive proteins and removes dead skin cells, and other valuable fruit extracts coupled with treated granules that would aid in removing dead skin cells, deep cleanses the skin helps mitigate blemishes and pigmentation and makes skin look visibly even toned, young and fairer.

My Experience with Jovees Papaya Face Wash:

I absolutely love this face wash, it has a mild citrusy scent with an underlying spiciness. The fragrance adds the much needed zing into my cleansing routine. I use it in the morning to have a fresh and awakened feeling (my skin loves it) and in the evening to remove the grime, dirt and oiliness.
Face wash tube

The face wash has a thick gel-like consistency and is quite viscous. This orange-colored gel has tiny orange beads which act as mild exfoliators. Since abrasive scrubbing is not for daily routine, the mild and relaxing exfoliation provided by this works well on dull skin.
Cap

It cleanses extremely well. The first day that I had used this face wash, my sweaty, tired face, full of melted makeup (it was 42 degrees with high humidity) looked clean and bright instantly. I didn’t need to clean the makeup separately (sunscreen + BB cream + compact) and there was no trace of it on my face. My skin looked radiant and completely clean. Pores look shrunken with consistent usage.
Swatch on hands

This is a great face wash which doesn’t dry out the skin. I skip the moisturizer because I have very oily skin, but dry skinned ladies would need to follow up with a moisturizer. My skin stays oil free for around 4 hours, after which there is some sebum secretion around my nose. I have used it for three weeks, and so far, there have been no new pimples even in this weather. There is a freshness and evenness in my skin, and I can’t stop obsessing over this budget-friendly face wash.

Pros of Jovees Papaya Face Wash:

  • Citrusy tangy fragrance.
  • Cleanses skin extremely well.
  • Mild exfoliating action.
  • Clears oil, sweat, grime, makeup.
  • Skin looks fresh, even and radiant.

  1. Thank u so much for this review! I hv been eyeing this product for the last 2-3 months, b’coz it has an impressive ingredients list (with all skin lightening things & AHAs).
But I was looking for a gd review, since I hv normal-dry & sensitive skin and didnt know how it wd behave. Also I gotta be sure b4 buying such a big 120 ml pk.
And here it is :). Thank u. Now I m gonna go pick it up :).

  2. Well, I tried this face wash coz I m a fan of Jovees. But this FW didnt work well for me.
It dried out my skin slightly ( I hv normal- dry skin) &
It gave me pimples in summers & winters too ( I hv acne prone skin).

But one thing gud was – it brightened up the face like…. wow! It gave me 2-3 shades fairer skin & my mum too.
It has a high dose of AHAs (all of those fruit extracts contain it) which are skin peeling agents. And anything with AHAs or BHAs should not be used for a long term, as they make the skin sensitive by exposing the underlying skin which is not yet ready.
I cd not continue with it. And its not recommended for dry skinned & acne- pimple prone ppl.
