Hello sweeties,
I must have told you guys about my lipbalm obsession in winters. I think it is necessary for every girl to maintain a pretty and cute collection of lip balms in her closet. I have almost of about 13 lip balms some in tubs and some in a stick form. I was using Palmer’s swivel stick for night treatment but sooner I found out that it was doing an amazing job for my blemishes, so I decided to keep that for blemishes and had to get some new balms. So I saw these joy ones online and got them because the lip balms I have are some tinted ones to be saved for day time. Me and my mom both use this one and at times my bro too.

Price: Rs 96 for 4 (I thought they would give me two, but instead I got 4 and I am totally clueless what I am going to do with these 4)

My experience with Joy Lip Guard:

This was the most random purchase of my life as I really do not need any more lip balms, but then only other option was my biotique lip balm tub which is like really tiring to apply before sleeping when I am half asleep; I wanted something handy that would just take 5 seconds to apply. I got 4 of these but I was expecting only 2 of them. They look very much like Vaseline tubes so I just disliked the packaging but on the other hand it is very handy and I keep one on my bedside table, so it is in reach whenever I need it.

It comes in a plastic white tube and a blue cap and has fonts and design in blue and pink but at this price I really cannot ask for more. And oh my god at this price also they gave me 20% extra. The application part is very convenient as it has a small hole which gives out the required product. The consistency of the product is thick when you press the tube but as soon as it appears on your lips it glides very smoothly and it feels very light on the lips; neither waxy nor heavy. The balm is pretty much transparent and does not give out any tint but gives a nice shiny finish to the lips and they appear to look healthy and fresh. It has a nice floral scent which is far better than Vaseline and my issue with Vaseline tube was whenever the balm goes into my mouth it gives a very bad flavour and itch to my throat which does not happen with this one. The fragrance lingers around for a while but is not irritating or overwhelming.

I apply it before going to bed on my lips and upper lip area and it does last for like 5 hours because it was still there at around 5 am when I got up for water. By late morning , the lip balm was not there completely but 50% of it was there. So I was pretty much surprised and by morning my lips were very soft and fresh and after using in only for 3 days my chapped lips had gone. So concluding I would say that not the best one but ofcourse for the price it is the best thing I have got and this works better than Vaseline tube for sure and it contains vitamin E too which has great benefits for the skin but I will see to it that I finish them before winter because I do not like using such lip guards after winter; I like the tinted lip balms better.

Pros of Joy Lip Guard:

-Dirt cheap
-Very handy and easy application as it just takes 5-10 seconds
-Superb quantity given and they gave 20% extra as well
-Contain fruit extracts and vitamin E
-The fragrance is a nice floral one and lingers for a while
-It does not feel heavy or waxy on the lips; it is very light weight
-Gives a nice shine to the lips and makes it appear healthy and fresh
-Repaired my chapped lips in 3 days but my lips were not that dry
-Can be used for the area around mouth too during harsh winters and is effective on that part too.

Cons of Joy Lip Guard:

-Very boring packaging
-No SPF so I use it only during night time
-No tint; it is just very plain
-Limited availability

Will I repurchase/recommend Joy Lip Guard?

I think I need to laugh at the question of repurchasing because I already have 4 and even if all my family members use it they won’t get over this winter and yes if you find it somewhere do surely get it for harsh winters and though it sounds cheap it is really good and will not disappoint you.
