How to Use:
Apply on your skin massaging gently, with circular movements. Pay attention to sensitive areas (eye-lids, under-eyes), and stubborn makeup (lips). Use only damp tissue/cotton/washcloth to wipe off, for fuss-free cleaning.
My Experience with Kama Ayurveda All Natural Makeup Remover:
Packaging:
Kama Ayurveda All Natural Makeup Remover comes in a plastic tube with a flip top cap. I am terrifically pleased that it has a tube packaging, not tub/jar. The tube itself bears description, directions to use and ingredients. The tube has an outer cardboard packaging too. The cardboard box houses all information about the product in detail. Overall, the packaging is basic but functional and travel-friendly.
Texture and Fragrance:
The texture of this makeup remover is rich, creamy and thick – just like a cleansing butter. Despite being rich and creamy, the formula is extremely lightweight. The makeup remover is slightly off-white in appearance with a herbal fragrance to it. The fragrance is noticeable throughout the cleansing process.
Usage/Results:
To use, I take two grape-sized amounts – the amount will vary on how heavy your makeup is. I don’t wear heavy makeup and need nearly this amount to remove every trace effectively. I massage with the makeup remover, focusing on the eyes and lips. When the product is rubbed, it liquifies and starts to melt off the makeup, but slowly. I have to massage for a few minutes so that the remover could melt off waterproof mascara, long-wearing eyeliner and lipstick. If I wear normal makeup, the massaging time is comparatively lesser.
I stop massaging as soon as I see the makeup melting off and wipe off with a damp cotton pad. Post wiping, no trace of makeup is left. To ensure this, I usually swipe a wipe over my face. After that, I follow up with my regular facial cleanser. The makeup remover effectively melts off stubborn makeup but takes time to complete the process. It is effective in melting off waterproof mascara as well. However, I have used it only once to remove eye makeup because it stings my eyes.
The makeup remover is extremely gentle and does not irritate the skin in the process. There is no redness as well. However, the makeup remover stings my eyes badly. And, no matter how carefully I massage over the eye, the remover always find its ways to make my eyes sting. The brand claims that this remover can be used on the eyes and still it stings my eyes, that’s why I feel kind of cheated. The makeup remover hydrates the skin effectively and does not make it tacky or greasy. In fact, it makes skin softer and smoother.
Overall:
The Kama Ayurveda All Natural Makeup Remover has a gentle formulation which is quite effective in melting down even stubborn makeup. However, the process takes time and the remover stings the eyes.
