Kama Ayurveda Ubtan Soap Free Body Cleanser Review

Skin Type : Normal-Dry

I had first received “Mridul” in a beauty bag and really liked it. Since then, there has been no looking back. Then, I spotted this ubtan by Kama and wondered what’s the difference! This ubtan is very similar to Mridul and works in the same way too. Let’s get into the details!

My Experience with Kama Ayurveda Ubtan Soap Free Body Cleanser:

packaging

It comes packaged in a tin container. You need to transfer the content from plastic wrap to tin to make them more potent, as per the brand. It also comes with a spoon which makes it user friendly and hygienic. But I am not a fan of this packaging. I feel the cap is a little loose and that taking this to the bathroom might spoil the product. So, to save the product, I carry some in a separate bowl to my bathroom. The packaging has all the details. I like how it looks quintessentially ayurvedic, but wish it were not as basic. I feel the product is fairly priced but it might get over too soon if you use it daily.

back

This cleanser comes in a thin powder form. It smells mainly of camphor and fennel to me. I do not mind the fragrance but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. The powder is supposed to be mixed with a little water and becomes an easy to apply paste. It feels gentle on the skin and gets rinsed off easily too. I like how gentle it is and how well it cleanses the skin. As per the brand, you can use it on your face as well as on body, which I like. Even though it cleanses well, it does not leave skin squeaky clean or refreshed like modern body cleansers; even the fragrance isn’t fresh, it’s just herbal.

close up

But, that does not mean that this isn’t a good cleanser. If you are into cruelty free brands like me, like to use chemical-free products and are into leps and ubtans, then this is meant for you. I would not prefer it after a sweaty workout session, but would definitely use it when I need to pamper my body with the goodness of nature. It hydrates my skin and makes it soft.

Would I Repurchase Kama Ayurveda Ubtan Soap Free Body Cleanser?
I am not sure yet. I like it as a cleanser but it does not give that “fresh” feeling after bath to me. I like it more as a face cleanser than as a body cleanser.

Would I Recommend Kama Ayurveda Ubtan Soap Free Body Cleanser?
If you are looking for a chemical-free product, then you may give it a try. It’s a good ayurvedic experience in itself as the product does everything it claims.
