Hi guys!
Yes! Another Kate review. I just can’t seem to help myself! 😛 I picked this one up after seeing that it had just got launched in drugstores. I picked up the shade which I felt was the most flattering at that time. This lipstick came out in Spring 2015. Let’s see how it did.

My Experience with Kanebo Kate RS-2 Color Wrapping Rouge Lipstick:
Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a traditional bullet form and is black all over. The packaging is functional yet minimal; it looks pretty ordinary, actually. It is not going to jazz up your vanity. There are 10 colours in the line, out of which the colour I chose is RS-2. There is 3.4 g product in the tube.
Staying Power:
The major complaint I have with this product is it has a very bad wear time. It lasts for about 1-2 hours. In fact, it disappears after an hour or so has passed. I don’t know how the product manages to do that. But, the good part is that it leaves behind a pink stain.
Shade:
It is a bright pink fuchsia shade. It is absolutely gorgeous. It definitely makes the lips the focal point of the face, so it is best to tone down the eye makeup with this one. It will go great with any neutral eye makeup look.
Pigmentation and Application:
It has surprisingly good colour payoff (one-swipe pigmentation), but you have to go over the lips a few times to get opacity. That is because it applies a bit patchy, so you have to go over those areas to get it even. This is the first lip product I have had which applies so patchily. Not a fan of this aspect! It is also difficult to apply it precisely in one go, so I recommend you use a lip brush if you’re applying bolder colors from this range.
Texture:
The texture is not super creamy and not-so-matte on the lips. It is somewhere in between and goes on smooth on the lips. It is supposed to protect the lips from drying as it contains complex moisturising treatment ingredients (hyaluronic acid and jojoba seed oil). It blends well, but when built on itself, it can bunch up in some spots.
Finish and Transferability:
It does not feel tacky on the lips, but is kind of creamy. It has a satin finish, so you can add gloss on top, if you want to. It transfers everywhere, so don’t be surprised if some lipstick ends up on your cheeks or wherever! I guess, the only redeeming aspect of this lipstick is its pigmentation.
Does it settle into lip lines?
No, it does not seem to do that. It does not bleed, or cling to flakes and cracks of the lips. It is also unscented.
