Today, I am sharing my views on a sun protective foundation compact that offers an SPF30 from the brand Kanebo Sensai. This ‘Silky Bronze’ is an anti-ageing sun care range. Packaging:
This compact comes packaged in a two coloured compact (bronze and terracotta), with a mirror and a dual sided sponge applicator. This immediate packaging comes packaged in a bronze coloured cardboard box. There is an additional plastic holder for the compact inside the box. The compact has two sections: the upper section (has the sponge) and the lower section (has the compact and the mirror). The dual sided sponge enables desired application. To open the compact, the clip on the side needs to be pressed. This travel-friendly compact closes firmly.

My Experience with Kanebo Sensai Silky Bronze Sun Protective Compact SPF 30:

I have this compact in the shade ‘SC02 Natural’ and have been using it since the first week of March. The main reason for buying this product was sun protection and anti-ageing properties that it promises. Secondly, I prefer to use a powder based foundation for regular wear. SC02 Natural is mildly bronzed and suits my moderately fair skin with warm undertones.

The texture is smooth, applies and blends easily. It can be used directly over a regular moisturiser, but not immediately; apply it only after the moisturiser sinks or settles down. It does not cake or feel chalky, does not highlight fine lines or clog pores. The compact minimises the pores and gives a sheer, flawless, smooth and even finish to my face. My skin feels soft and supple and looks firmer and younger. It goes well with the Kanebo Sensai Fluid Finish Foundation SPF 15 for a built up effect. It does not dry, dehydrate or irritate my sensitive skin. And, I have not experienced any breakouts with this. It is intensely pigmented and the lasting power is more than eight hours. However, if you are in the sun or on the road for a longer time, you will need a touch up in certain areas of the face, after three to four hours.

In my case, it just disappears from my nose and needs to be reapplied. It needs to be removed with a makeup remover. The shade is buildable to get the desired effect. This compact is apt for the day time and for regular use, as well for special occasions. When applied directly over a moisturiser, it gives a sheer finish. When applied over a liquid foundation, tinted moisturiser or cream foundation, it gives an opaque, flawless finish.

For regular wear, I directly apply over my moisturiser; for an opaque finish and a built up look on special days, I apply it along with my Sensai Fluid Finish Foundation. I have also used it along with other brand foundations like Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup and Jane Iredale Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer and it sets well. I am totally impressed with this product. However, the only drawback is that it tends to vanish from certain areas of the face, where the sun shines the most and a touch up is required.

After regular use, the dark spots have reduced and have become less obvious on my cheeks, but not my nose. This is because the compact just vanishes from my nose and leaving it exposed to the sun. I feel my T-zone maybe extra oily since I have a combination skin and this may be happening due to the same.
