I watched Tanu Weds Manu Returns yesterday. And I absooolutely loved the movie. Kangana is such a great actress. I have become such a major fan of this girl.
I loved the makeup in the movie. There were two main things I noticed about the Kangana’s makeup in the movie :
1. A very thick black eyeliner and thick upper lashes.
2. lots of blush.
I picked up this one look from her song ‘Ghani Bawari’. Her eyeliner was thick, her lipstick was bright and her blush was loud. I lOVVVED it. It was such a perfect makeup for Indian weddings.
The lipstick looked orange in some shots and reddish orange in others. Blush looked like they have used red lipstick itself for the cheeks.
Following were the inspiration pics. Hope you like my version as well. 🙂
For lips : I used a cool toned red lipstick as a base and then finished off with a bright orange lip color. With this technique, you can choose if you want your lipstick to look more orangey or more red. If you want it to look more red, use orange lipstick as a base and then use red lipstick on top. Don’t forget to blend the two. 🙂
For cheeks : I used a reddish blush, which ended up looking orange in camera. 😛 Anyhoo, as mentioned above, totally go ahead and use your red lipstick as blush for cheeks. Blend it away with your finger tips. And be a bit generous. 🙂
Here’s a little tute for the eyes 😀
Step 1- trace a thick eyeliner with a pencil eyeliner depending on how thick you want your liner to be. You don’t have to be perfect with it. Just to get a rough idea and to get things started. I used a dark brown pencil instead of black because brown is more forgiving than black and it’s easier to correct if you make mistake.
Step 2 : Using any thin lip brush just go over the liner with a matte black eyeshadow. You could also used a liquid eyeliner but to get that matte black look, an eyeshadow would look nicer.
Step 3 : Finish off with a pair of falsies or mascara. I also used a n*de eyeliner pencil from Sephora on the waterline.
