I’m back with another lipstick review. You already know that I am totally in love with my KVD Everlasting liquid lipsticks. I had previously shared my views on a shade from this Studded Kiss line – Bauhua5 – a gorgeous purple/berry shade perfect for fall. While I picked up that product by mistake, this lipstick was also pretty much thrust upon me.
This was part of the KVD Monarch set I picked up from Sephora, which included the Monarch palette – my most perfect palette ever! And thanks to my two friends, one who suggested I pick up the palette and the other who made all the effort of getting it for me to India! XOXO
So, this lipstick was part and parcel of the kit and honestly, I wasn’t too excited about the colour, but thought, what the heck, let’s see how it fared 🙂

Packaging:
The lipstick comes packaged in a black cardboard box. The lipstick case itself is pretty neat, distinctly different from any other case out there. Refer to the pics. It has a normal twist-up mechanism. The bullet itself has the KVD insignia on it; looks really classy.
My Experience with Kat Von D Archangel Studded Kiss Lipstick:
Color: The colour, referred to on the website as “matte burnt red” didn’t invoke much excitement for me. I thought it would be like a muddy red or something. Instead, it’s the most gorgeous warm burnt red, just like it said on the website. It feels like a sophisticated take on a regular red lipstick. It brightens the face no doubt, but it’s not loud and in your face. I am really liking this red.
Texture: Since I got this lipstick in the winters, I was dreading the texture. However, I need not have worried about it. While the texture is no way buttery soft, it isn’t quite as bad as MAC Retro Mattes either. The texture is something between MAC Retro Matte and the MAC regular mattes. So, it doesn’t glide on smoothly, but it doesn’t quite tug at the lips either. It did not feather or bleed. The wear was comfortable for about 6 hours, post which I could feel it to be drying. However, it does not make the lips look prunish and unflattering. Ideally, exfoliate your lips before using this.
Pigmentation: Excellent pigmentation, 100% color deposit in a single swipe. It’s absolutely gorgeous, full-on saturated colour. Loved it!
Lasting Power: This one lasts for a good 7-8 hours plus. Also, it leaves a residual stain which hangs around for a couple of more hours. An oily meal will break down the lipstick, especially from the inner side of the lips. However, normal sipping, biting has pretty much no effect on it. You will need an oil-based remover to take it off.

- Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.
- The colour hugs the lips nicely – no feathering or bleeding.
- Hides lip pigmentation well.
- Luxe and classy feel to the tube and case!
- No fragrance.
- No taste.
- Does not transfer.
Cons of Kat Von D Archangel Studded Kiss Lipstick:
- Feels drying over extended time.
- Ease of availability.

This may not be the most perfect formulation, but it is a good matte formula. So, people who love mattes, should definitely give it a shot and as far as the shade goes, I’m really loving it. It’s quite a unique shade of red in my kitty. I would totally recommend it and repurchase if I lost it *God Forbid*
