Hello IMBB readers, authors and everyone!
I am splurging on eyeliners, here’s one more – this is my first product from the brand “Kat Von D.” I am going to review Kat Von D Autograph Eye Liner in the shade “Black Metal Love” for IMBB today. Let’s see how this one worked for me.
Kat Von D Mini Autograph Pencil is a long-wearing, waterproof liner with a velvety formula that glides easily onto lids and dries down to a vibrant finish.
$18 (excluding taxes and shipping cost).
My Experience with Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner Pencil – Black Metal Love:
Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner comes in a sharpen-able pencil/crayon form. It is lightweight and the plastic cap closes tight, so it can be kept in the clutch or handbag on the go. You need to sharpen the tip often for obtaining crisp, thin and precise lines and this leads to some product wastage. In my opinion, for the price tag, the packaging could have definitely been better than what it is.
Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner in the shade “Black Metal Love” has a very soft, smooth and creamy texture. The formula is such that you can easily smudge it as it allows sufficient time before drying. You can easily do tight lining, smoky eye look, smudging or winged eyeliner with this formula. The finish is glittery as you can see in the swatch.
Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner in Black Metal Love contains tiny silver glitter particles. It isn’t the blackest black shade, I will say it is medium black. The finish makes me nostalgic, taking me back in the late 90’s era when glittery eyeliners were the biggest trend.
The pigmentation is very good, though not great, but I won’t blame it because there is a huge difference when you compare jet black eyeliner’s pigmentation to a medium black eyeliner. Since it contains glitter, I skip it for the waterline.
On the upper lash line, it wears up to eight hours easily with negligible fading after 6 hours. It is water resistant to a great extent, but not completely. You can smudge it easily with water. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or bring in tears when I apply it on the lower lash line for a glamorous look.
Let’s summarize it in pros and cons:

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner Pencil – Black Metal Love?
Definitely recommend it. Today, when we have a wide variety of eyeliners, a few of glitter variety is also available and you can add such pencils to your collection. I like the formula and the staying power a lot, so I will definitely recommend it. I have enough of black eyeliners now, so I will try to get hold of the shade “Runaway,” which is a gorgeous purple from the Kat Von D Autograph Eye Liner range.
