Not long ago, I hauled a bunch of colors from the Kat Von D metal crush eye shadow line. You can see the haul post here. This review will be on the shade Danzig.
An innovative eye shadow with maximum pigment and extreme long wear.
What it does:
Bring a shock of metallic color to eyes. Kat Von D’s proprietary formula features Color-Soaked Concentrate™, the result of a technique in which pigment-saturated powders undergo a unique tumbling process that softens and smooths each particle until shadow is creamy and lustrous—leaving behind the highest possible levels of pigment and pearl in this ultra long-wear shadow. With a polished metal finish and 11 striking shades, Metal Crush Eyeshadow glides smoothly across the lids, saturating them with beautiful metallic pigment. It is formulated without parabens.
My Experience with Kat Von D Danzig Metal Crush Eyeshadow:
Packaging: I love the sleek packaging with a see-through cap with KVD logo. The cap closes securely with a click. This type of packaging is travel friendly too.
Texture: These eyeshadows are sort of dense and tightly packed. They almost have a creamy feel to it. There is no powder flying when you dip your brush in and I find the most effective way to pick up the most pigment is dragging your brush rather than just dipping in in the product.
Pigmentation and Blend-ability: The pigmentation on these shadows is insane, so opaque and so beautiful. They are also buildable hence you can layer them to achieve the most vibrancy. They also blend beautifully though blending diffuses a lot of the metallic finish.
In order to merge one color into the other, you just have to do slight tapping motion on the overlapping areas and the colors merge without getting muddy. These shadows are so easy to work with which makes it a joy to use.
Shade and Finish: The shade “Danzig” is described as a metallic violet. I find this color to be a deep purple with lots of bright blue shimmer in it. The finish is bold and metallic but it looks very flattering especially when used to create night-time makeup. The shimmers are not gritty and there is hardly any fall out during application. I find this color to be really flattering to incorporate into colorful eye looks or even used as a pop of color to otherwise neutral eye look (See EOTDs).
Staying power: Simply amazing. They stay put without fading for up to 6-7 hours even without a primer. A primer will of course stretch that time even more. There is no creasing.
In the EOTD, I was just playing with these colors and created this Peacock inspired eye look. I used the colors Electric Warrior, Paranoid, and Danzig. I know this is not something everybody will be comfortable wearing on a regular basis hence I also created another all matte eye look with this shade as a pop of color on the lower lash line.
Overall, I cannot recommend them enough. Most amazing, beautiful, vibrant shadows with array of colors; fantastic pigmentation and staying power. I couldn’t be more impressed. This product is a testament to why Kat von D line is so successful and in one of my top favorites.

Cons of Kat Von D Danzig Metal Crush Eyeshadow:
