Kat Von D L.U.V Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Review

You all aren’t new to the Kat Von D line of cosmetics. A lot of her products have already been reviewed on IMBB, including this particular range of liquid lipsticks. I had my eyes set on two shades from this range – LUV and Bauhua5 for quite a while. Finally, my friends in US got these and many more shades for me. So, let’s see how these performed.

Product Details:

A long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish.  Now with 16 additional, bold shades of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick for all-night wear, this innovative formula gives lips long-lasting wear and high-pigment color. Its creamy, color-rich formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to a true matte finish. It’s infused with natural comfort-enhancing ingredients, including vitamin E and sunflower seed so you can flaunt lasting matte color that leaves lips feeling comfortable.  It is formulated without parabens.

The lip stain comes packaged in a lip gloss kind of packaging with the KVD logo prominently displayed. The packaging is long and slender with tattooed art, it’s quite fetching just to look at. The tube is transparent, so it’s easy to identify the colour. The bottle comes packaged in the standard KVD black outer box.  The applicator is a soft and bendy – refer to the pics; makes for easy and precise application of these really intense super pigmented shades.

My Experience with Kat Von D L.U.V Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:

Color: The shade “L.U.V” is a bright purple. It’s bold and “out there” kind of a shade. It instantly brightens up the face and makes it look ultra glam, it’s absolutely stunning! It has quickly become my favourite lipstick surpassing MAC Heroine. If you shy away from loud colours, this will definitely not be up your alley. However, if BOLD is your middle name – you NEED to get this!

Texture: The lipstick is lightweight and creamy. It takes very little time for it to set into a totally matte finish. However, there is a little window in which you can add another colour to add dimension to it. Though matte, the product does not dehydrate the lip. There is no dryness or discomfort, rather it wears very comfortably.

The product is easy to apply from the applicator. It goes on smooth and evenly – no patchiness whatsoever.

Pigmentation: Pigmentation is bang on! One light swipe deposits 100% color. You do not need to layer it up. You actually need very little product for full and even application. The colour is opaque in the first swipe itself and hides all lip pigmentation.

Staying Power:  The product lasted through the whole day for me. Light snacks has absolutely no impact on it. If the meal is oily, it will break down the formula. However, if it’s finger foods that you snack upon through the day, the lipstick stays fairly intact. The fading happens only in the inner corner of the lip and doesn’t look too bad. You can easily do a touch up. You do not need to remove the entire lipstick and reapply; a quick touch-up works well and does not look patchy.

You will need an oil-based makeup remover to get it totally off your lips.

This is THE MOST PERFECT lipstick formula for me. I say, for me, because everybody has different criteria for what makes something perfect for them. These remind me of the Giorgio Armani Lip Maestros – light texture, super pigmentation, lasts all day. Plus, in case of KVD, they have some amazingly loud experimental colours too (which generally brands like Armani, Chanel, etc shy from) and the best part about these lipsticks is that they DO NOT TRANSFER, which is my personal pet peeve.  So, I can wear really bold colours and not restrain myself from kissing my cherub! Love Love Love! Or should I just say L.U.V.!!

Would I Repurchase Kat Von D L.U.V Everlasting Liquid Lipstick?
Putting my money where my mouth is, I am already trying to get four more shades in this line! And when this one gets over, I will need a fresh tube!
