One of the most coveted and popular lipsticks in the “Kat Von D” line is the shade “Lolita.” It is almost always sold out and people can’t seem to get enough of this shade. It is so popular that Kat Von D released a sequel to this shade called “Lolita II,” which is now available in a set along with the original shade at Sephora. I do believe this is an early sneak peak of this shade and it will be sold on its own soon.
Though I do have the review of the original “Lolita” shade here on IMBB, it turns out the shade that I received was one of the bad batches of the lipstick which had got the color way off from the original. A lot of people were on the receiving end of this bad formula and there were lots of complains, hence I also wanted to bring to you this review as a comparison post with the right “Lolita” shade.
A mini lip duo featuring Kat Von D’s covetable Lolita shade and brand-new Lolita II Liquid Lipsticks.

My Experience with Kat Von D Lolita Lip Duo Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
Packaging: This liquid lipstick comes in a simple see-through tube with a doe-foot applicator which makes application easy and precise.
Texture: I love the formula of these Kat Von D liquid lipsticks. They are mousse-y and creamy, and glide on the lips effortlessly without streaking.
Pigmentation: These liquid lipsticks go on with full pigmentation in one swipe. You can build these up if you like, but I see that one layer gives me opaque coverage while making my lips stay comfortable whereas more layers tend to dry out my lips.
Finish: These liquid lipsticks by KVD dry fully matte and turn transfer proof. There is absolutely no shimmer or sheen.
Feel on the lips: The formula of Kat Von D liquid lipsticks is by far the most comfortable liquid lipstick formula I have used. It stays very comfortable on my lips and I can hardly feel that I have any product on my lips. As with every matte lipstick, it looks best on exfoliated and prepped lips. These do not flake or crumble. They do not accentuate fine lines and dryness on my lips. I can even wear these in winters when my lips are the most dry, with ease.
Shade: The shade “Lolita” is a beautiful dusty mauve/chestnut rose. It is 2 shades deeper than my natural lip color, but still looks very flattering. It does get deeper as it sets. This shade would be the most flattering and natural on dusky deep skin tones though fair light skin people can also wear it if you are comfortable with a deeper lip color in contrast to your skin color. This color imparts a very trendy 90s lips/Kylie Jenner lips trend look, and is a very unique shade, and no wonder it is a best seller.
The shade “Lolita II” is described as a terracotta n*de. At first, I thought it was similar to the shade “Double Dare” in my collection, but it is more of an orange/rusty copper base whereas “Double Dare” is pink based. I like this shade much more than the original “Lolita” with my light medium skin tone. It is much more natural looking and wearable on an everyday basis. I love love love this shade. This shade also tends to get deeper after it sets or if it is layered.
Staying Power: These liquid lipsticks are truly long wearing. They wear easily for 7-8 hours without fading, smearing or bleeding which is the whole day for me and survive through multiple snacks and drink breaks. They do break down if it comes in contact with oil from your food and becomes prone to smudging.
Overall, I absolutely adore these liquid lipsticks from Kat Von D and they are by far my favorite liquid lipstick formulas to wear. I have a ton of shades from this and will continue to buy more. If you are curious if the ever popular “Lolita” shade is right for you or not, I would say if you are in the medium to dusky skin tone range, go for it and if you are in the light to medium skin tone range, go for Lolita II.
