Continuing with my reviews of Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow line, this review will be on the shade “Raw Power”.

What it does:

Kat Von D’s proprietary formula features Color-Soaked Concentrate™, the result of a technique in which pigment-saturated powders undergo a unique tumbling process that softens and smooths each particle until shadow is creamy and lustrous—leaving behind the highest possible levels of pigment and pearl in this ultra long-wear shadow. With a polished metal finish and 11 striking shades, Metal Crush Eyeshadow glides smoothly across the lids, saturating them with beautiful metallic pigment.

My Experience with Kat Von D Raw Power Metal Crush Eyeshadow:

Packaging: These eyeshadows have a sleek & travel friendly packaging –  a see-through cap with the KVD logo. The cap closes securely with a click.

Texture:  This shadow is sort of dense and tightly packed, and has a creamy feel to it. There is very minimal amount of powder flying when you dip your brush in. You can even easily apply these shadows with your fingertips. They are very smooth to touch.

Shade: The shade Raw Power is described as Metallic Mahogany. To me it looks like a very deep reddish copper. It is a very warm color and looks captivating on the eyes. With the comeback of 90s trends, this color would be perfect to create a 90s grunge look. You can use this alone or layered over another eyeshadow to give dimension, like I have done in the EOTD.

Pigmentation and Blendability: The pigmentation of these shadows is insane – so opaque and so beautiful. They are also buildable, hence you can layer them to achieve more vibrancy. They also blend beautifully, though blending diffuses a lot of the metallic finish. In order to merge one color into the other, you just have to do slight tapping motion on the overlapping areas and the colors merge without getting muddy. These shadows are so easy to work with, which makes it a joy to use.

Staying Power:  Simply amazing! They stay put without fading for up to 6-7 hours even without a primer. A primer will, of course, stretch that time even more. There is no creasing.

Overall: I am head over heels in love with these eyeshadows by Kat Von D. They are beyond perfection, and since I am a fan of warm eye looks, this shade holds a worthy place in my makeup collection. I highly recommend them, and no matter what color you choose from this range, you will not be disappointed.

In the EOTD , I have used the shade “Synergy” all over my lid (blended out) with a fluffy brush for a softer, diffused appearance instead of patting motion and used the shade “Raw Power” over it just in the center of the lid to give some dimension. Also, used the shade “Synergy” as eyeliner instead of usual black for a softer, daytime look.
