Hey lovely ladies,
I am back from my mini hiatus. The weekends can be really exhausting and extended weekends seem almost never ending! Finally, I’m back and let’s pray that it stays so. Super excited to share today’s review with you. I got so much encouragement when I tried KVD’s blue shade “Echo.” It prompted me to try something equally daring again… Roxy! Let us find out more about it.
A long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish.
What it does: Now, with 16 additional, bold shades of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick for all-night wear, this innovative formula gives lips long-lasting wear and high-pigment color. Its creamy, color-rich formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to a true matte finish. It’s infused with natural comfort-enhancing ingredients, including vitamin E and sunflower seed so you can flaunt lasting matte color that leaves lips feeling comfortable. It is formulated without parabens.

My Experience with Kat Von D Roxy Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
A lip gloss kind of packaging – only sleeker and prettier! The packaging is long and slender with exquisite artwork. The tube is transparent, so it’s easy to identify the colour. The bottle comes packaged in the standard KVD black outer box. The applicator is soft and bendy – refer pics. Makes for easy and precise application.
Color: The shade “Roxy” is a deep, cool-toned purple. It is quite bold and striking. It definitely isn’t an easily wearable colour – just like Echo. However, I do feel that it is easier to get away with a purple than a navy blue. The shade is super exciting, one can definitely wear it on its own or do an ombre effect with it – with maybe a magenta or a fuchsia pulled in.
Again, this seems more like an “Insta product” – something more suitable for pics or for editorial work, rather than your daily life or a day at work (unless you work for Sephora).
Texture: The texture is lightweight and creamy liquid, much in line with the other lipsticks that I have tried from this range. It was fairly difficult to spread – not in terms of the lipstick itself but the fact that it would keep sheering out. So, I had to keep going over it to keep building it up. It dries down to a matte finish but isn’t too drying on the lips.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation of this one was disappointing – just like that of Echo. It sheers out while spreading. You have to build it up, but the good thing is that it does not look goopy or thick even with two layers on. Two layers give you decent coverage but there is still a bit of translucency.
Lasting Power: This was again in line with the performance of the shade “Echo.” The product lasts for about 4 hours, post which you could see it getting patchy. It does not fade evenly. The good thing was that it does not leave a stain. Don’t get me wrong – I love a good stain on the lips, but you obviously don’t want a purple one to sit on your lips after the lipstick has disappeared.

Cons of Kat Von D Roxy Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
- You feel a bit of stretch when it first dries off, but the feeling is minimal and short lived.

- The shade gets patchy and fades unevenly.
- Short wear time.
A 2.5/5 product.
It is a bummer to have a stunning shade like this and not be able to wear it too often because it does really give you any decent wear. As I have mentioned earlier, it is a great “Insta shade” – suitable for pics on social media where you want the product to be around only for the duration of the shoot – not an actual event/date/day wherein you might eat to drink something. I would wanna add one thing. One sees a lot of trend online stating – go ahead and use something like this for the eyes – if it doesn’t work for the lips. And trust me, I have done that! For my Christmas look, I did use a red liquid lipstick to line my eyes. You can check the pic on Insta. But, I did it, knowing completely well that it could have hazardous effect, but then, the risk I take is of my own making. A product designed for the lips or face etc – may not be suitable for the sensitive eye area and should not be used randomly. This is not a marketing strategy by the companies. It is just that the ingredients used for the eye area are different from that on the face/lips, etc. So, when you see people using lipstick on the eyes or even blush, I strongly advice against it. However, if you do want to experiment, please know that it can end in a visit to the dermatologist or ophthalmologist. Equally appalling to me are the videos on using crayons to make lipsticks and lip balms! Pls pls pls don’t! Just because the particular company states that the crayon is non toxic does not mean that it is safe for the skin.
Would I Repurchase Kat Von D Roxy Everlasting Liquid Lipstick?
I don’t think so. While I enjoy wearing this one just for pure experimentation, I don’t think I would repurchase it.
