Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick Double Dare Review

Kat Von D recently launched a ton of shades in her Studded Kiss Lipstick range. The shades “Double Dare”, “Mother” and “Lolita II” were launched last year as a part of her holiday line and I picked up all the three shades. She has re-released these in her new Studded Kiss Creme line. The shade I will be reviewing today is called Double Dare.

My Experience with Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick Double Dare:

The packaging of Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick Double Dare is just amazing. It’s feminine and it’s chic at the same time. It seems like studs are embossed all over the tube. I like how her makeup line represents her strong personality.

The only thing I hate about the packaging is the lipstick cap as it tends to open very easily and doesn’t feel secure enough. The ‘KVD’ logo is engraved on the top of the cap and on the bullet too. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the tube. Since this is a limited edition tube it has a metallic finish to it.

Double Dare is a peachy mauve shade that will flatter a variety of skin tones. The lipstick has a rich, soft texture and is very pigmented. The finish and texture of this lipstick remind me a lot of Urban Decay Vice Mega Matte Lipsticks.

It does tug a little on the lips but the pigmentation is amazing. It has a strong vanilla scent which fades after the application. I didn’t notice any feathering with these lipsticks. This lipstick feels very lightweight on the lips. The finish of Double Dare is matte with a slight sheen.

If you have very dry lips I won’t suggest this because the formulation is a little bit on the drying side. But, on my lips, it feels very comfortable. The staying power is pretty good and the lip color fades evenly. On me, it lasts 7 hours without any touch-up.
