Hey lovely ladies,
With a heavy heart, I share today, probably my last Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick for you. As promised, I have included the hand swatches of all the shades that I have – for a quick and ready reference for you. Sometimes, the nuance of a colour becomes more visible when you have comparative swatches. So:
A long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish. Now, with 16 additional, bold shades of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick for all-night wear, this innovative formula gives lips long-lasting wear and high-pigment color. Its creamy, color-rich formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to a true matte finish. It’s infused with natural comfort-enhancing ingredients, including vitamin E and sunflower seed so you can flaunt lasting matte color that leaves lips feeling comfortable. It is formulated without parabens.
US $20/AED 100
My Experience with Kat Von D Susperia Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
The applicator is a doe-foot applicator – refer to the pics. Makes for easy and precise application of these really intense super pigmented shades.
Color: The shade “Susperia” is described as a “bright lavender.” To me, it seems like a medium dark purple. It is like a muted, more wearable version of KVD’s LUV – reviewed by me earlier. While LUV is more loud and funky, this one is more mature and put together….well, as “mature” as purple on your lips can be! 😉 It’s definitely an easier purple to carry off.
Texture: The texture is again lightweight and creamy liquid-y. It goes on smoothly and sets fairly quickly to a totally matte finish. There is a little play time, in case you want to do lip contouring and adds a lighter or darker shade into the mix. Despite being a total matte, it does not dry out the lips or make them feel prunish. There is no stretchy feeling.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is excellent on this one – one swipe gives full colour deposit, it’s opaque and covers all lip pigmentation. You have to be careful while applying because any mistakes are starkly visible when the colour is bright and pigmentation is high. It’s not a slap and run kind of shade.
Lasting Power: This turned out to be a bummer. The lipstick didn’t last too long, by about 4-5 hours, it had broken down way more than other KVD lipsticks. And just like Colourpop’s Bad Habit, when the shade is this bright and does not leave a stain, when it disappears from half your lower lip, it’s a cause for concern. I’ve not had much issues with KVD’s line – except maybe the shade “Jeffree.” So, I was bummed about this one. I did experiment with it a couple more times to reconfirm if it was the lipstick or maybe I ate something too oily. The formula is definitely an issue. You can easily do a touch up – it layers well, it will not look patchy. You do not need to remove the entire lipstick and reapply.
Pros of Kat Von D Susperia Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
- A gorgeous wearable purple.
- Lightweight texture.
- Excellent pigmentation.
- Easy to apply with the applicator.
- It applies smoothly and evenly.
- No feathering or bleeding.
- Luxe packaging.
- Easy to identify colour from the tube itself.
- Formulated without parabens.
- Does not flake.
- Does not go patchy with wear time.
- Not does make your lips look prunish.
Cons of Kat Von D Susperia Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
- Not available in India. It is now available in UAE, south East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand) and in UK – (apart from US of course) and launching soon in.
- Not long lasting – unlike the other shades in this range.
A 3.8/5 product.
The formula is fairly comfortable – for a matte lipstick, but the longevity is definitely an issue, especially at this price point. If you are really into purples and prefer the KVD formula, I would suggest you pick LUV instead of Susperia. That way, you definitely get more bang for your buck and the shades are fairly similar.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Kat Von D Susperia Everlasting Liquid Lipstick?
Nope, not this shade. As far as more KVDs are concerned – I think I am through. I have pretty much all shades that I want. So, hopefully no more KVD Everlasting lipstick reviews from me.
However, you enjoy the swatches of all the shades that I have. I hope it helps you identify which shade you would like to pick from this range. My top picks would be Double Dare, Mother, Bachelorette, Lolita II and LUV. And maybe —Backstage Bambi!
