This review will be on another shade from my Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow collection – this particular shade is called “Thrasher.”

About the product:

An innovative eye shadow with maximum pigment and extreme long wear.

What it does:

Kat Von D’s proprietary formula features Color-Soaked Concentrate™, the result of a technique in which pigment-saturated powders undergo a unique tumbling process that softens and smooths each particle until shadow is creamy and lustrous—leaving behind the highest possible levels of pigment and pearl in this ultra long-wear shadow. With a polished metal finish and 11 striking shades, Metal Crush Eyeshadow glides smoothly across the lids, saturating them with beautiful metallic pigment.  It is formulated without parabens.

My Experience with Kat Von D Thrasher Metal Crush Eyeshadow:

Packaging:  These eyeshadows have a sleek packaging – a see-through cap with the KVD logo. The cap closes securely with a click. It’s a travel-friendly packaging too.

Texture:  This shadow is sort of dense and tightly packed, and almost has a creamy feel to it. There is no powder flying when you dip your brush in, and I find that the most effective way to pick up most of the pigment is by dragging your brush rather than just dipping it in the product.

Shade:  The shade “Thrasher” is described as metallic gold which couldn’t be more true. This is a beautiful liquid gold color which every gold lover will fall head over heels in love with (yes, I am looking at you Jomol :P) This shadows applies with just the same bright intensity and reflects on the eyes as it appears in the pan. It is the perfect shade for parties, wedding and even Indian brides. I cannot find a word fitting enough to describe it, so I will settle for “simply stunning.”

Pigmentation and Blend-ability: The pigmentation on these shadows is insane, so opaque and so beautiful. They are also buildable hence you can layer them to achieve the most vibrancy. They also blend beautifully though blending diffuses a lot of the metallic finish. In order to merge one color into the other, you just have to do slight tapping motion on the overlapping areas and the colors merge without getting muddy. These shadows are so easy to work with which makes it a joy to use.

Staying Power: Simply amazing. They stay put without fading for up to 6-7 hours even without a primer. A primer will of course stretch that time even more. There is no creasing.

Overall, as you may have judged from my past few reviews, I cannot rave enough about this line. This particular shade may be my favorite by a just a teeny tiny bit from the rest. If you ever get an opportunity to get these shadows, grab them with eyes closed and grab as many as you can.

In the EOTD, I have used the shades “Thrasher” and “Doce” to create this warm autumn/fall inspired look.
