Kate Tokyo Pressed Cheek Color in OR-1 Review

Hi guys!

This has been stashed away in my vanity for about a month or two and I completely forgot it exists! It is a single cheek powder in a very small packaging. Let’s see if this worked for me!

Product description: For a brilliant finish with a rosy complexion. A long-lasting pressed cheek color with strong coloration.

Price: ¥734

Made in Japan

Packaging: This blush comes in a very small rectangular container. The top does seem to be sturdy but I broke it when I dropped it once. I like that the packaging is small and compact. There is 2.2 g of product in the container.

Shade: The shade is OR-1, with the OR standing for orange. And I would say it is a peachy orange shade. There are 3 other colours in the line. The thing I really like about the shade is that it suits a huge variety of skin tones. Fair to medium skin tones won’t have to work hard to get this product to show up. Tan to deep skin tones will have to put on a few layers but it will look absolutely gorgeous and natural.

Pigmentation: The colour pay-off is really good with this one. Even though it is pigmented, I find that I have to put on about 2 layers for it to even show up. But when I do, it looks beautiful and very very natural. I would say it gives the most natural flush for my skin tone. So much so that in that respect, it is the most unique blush in my collection.

Consistency: The consistency of this blush is that of pressed powder. Once it is on the cheeks, it blends in really well. You can easily go overboard with this so I would recommend to tap off your brush to get rid of the excess product when you use it.

Longevity: Without primer, it does not last more than 4 hours on me. So I recommend either a primer underneath or a setting spray on top to increase its longevity.

Final thoughts: Initially when I used this, I was underwhelmed to be honest and I just put it away. But now that I have started using it again, I have to say I love it. It goes wonderfully with my skin tone. The staying power is the only major con with this product for me, especially since it takes a bit of effort to get it to show up in the first place. Something else to be kept in mind is that, since the container is so small, I prefer to use a smaller brush to go with it (I use the Real Techniques contour brush). If I do repurchase, it will be the red shade RD-1 to see if it shows up easier than this shade.
