After the review of the Sulfate free shampoo from Kerastase Discipline range, today I will be reviewing the conditioner from the same range which I bought along with it. I really like Kerastase products; and do use hair care products from this brand most diligently. Kerastase“Discipline” range was launched just last month, and has not yet been launched in India. The range aims at “disciplining” the frizz in fine, wavy and curly hair. With the advent of Sulfate and Silicone free hair care products, my HG hair conditioner has been Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oleo-Complex Masque; which is a silicone free hair masque. My hair is normally fine, straight and silky; which becomes frizzy and unmanageable during monsoons. Since this range was specifically released for reducing the fizziness, I bought it online, along with the Sulfate free shampoo, although I could not find its list of ingredients anywhere on their website.
About the product:
Say hello to soft, supple hair that’s protected from frizz and humidity for up to 72 hours with Kerastase Discipline Fondant Fluidealiste. Formulated with Amino acids, a wheat protein derivative and Ceramide R, it will smooth and strengthen your hair, whilst the Pro-Keratin formula will restore the integrity of the hair. My Experience Kerastase Discipline Fondant Fluidealiste
Kerastase has released two products for the treatment and conditioning of hair; Fondant Fluidealiste(a basic conditioner), and Maskeratine(a more concentrated form).
The Fondant Fluidealiste comes in a pink rose colored tube packaging containing 200 ml of product. The tube has a small hole, for control of product flow. The product itself is white in color, and a bit thick. The fragrance is just like the shampoo, rosy floral, spa-like, which does not remain on hair for very long after washing.
The conditioner is to be applied on to the hair strands, kept for 2-3 minutes and then washed off. It washes off quite easily, and does not leave a very slimy feel to the hair. But it does help, along with the shampoo to decrease the fizziness. The shampoo, along with the conditioner, is quite adequate for my fine, straight and slightly unmanageable hair during monsoons. However, people with wavy to curly hair; or colored and chemically treated rough hair, having lots of frizz, are not going to find this product adequate if used alone. For them, the maskeratine is definitely recommended; which may be used after this conditioner; or even without it. The frizz does remain in control for 3-4 days, but not more than that; so you will have to reapply it at least twice a week.
Post application, it really helps to decrease frizz. The hair is detangled easily. It does not weigh down my hair. Hair fall is reduced. The hair looks soft, smooth, and straight and shiny, with a healthy look to it.
Pros of Kerastase Discipline Fondant Fluidealiste
• Sturdy, luxurious packaging
• Fragrance is mind blowing; a spa like smell; which does not remain long on hair
• Consistency is thick; perfect
• Small amount is needed to cover the hair tresses
• Washes off easily
• Does not leave a slimy feel to the hair
• Hair can be detangled very fast post its application
• Decreases frizz; which remains for 3-4 days
• Hair becomes smooth, soft and shiny
• Does not weigh down my hair
• Adequate for fine, straight hair, with little, seasonal frizz
• Will last a long time
Cons of Kerastase Discipline Fondant Fluidealiste
• Not yet available in India
• Contains Silicones in it.
• Will not work very well if used alone for extreme frizz, very curly or wavy hair, or colored and chemically treated hair.
IMBB Rating: 4/5
Will I repurchase Kerastase Discipline Fondant Fluidealiste?
No. I already have my HG conditioner, and I did not find anything in this product which can surpass my HG one.
Will I recommend Kerastase Discipline Fondant Fluidealiste?
I will recommend it to only those who have minimal frizz problems and do not have problems using Silicones. People with more problematic hair may purchase this along with the mask; or leave this out and just use the mask. Extreme problematic hair will definitely need the entire range for getting best results. As for me, I have found my HG conditioner in the form of Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oleo-Complex Masque, which conditions my hair beautifully without weighing it down, and is silicone free as well. This product is a pretty decent conditioner; but there is nothing extra special about it if used alone. You may buy it alone or with the mask or just leave it; the choice is totally yours.
