Khadi Aloe Vera Gel Review

Khadi Aloe Vera Gel

Hello Beauties!

Hope you all are enjoying weekend thoroughly. Today I am going to share my thoughts on aloe vera gel by Khadi. We all are very well aware about the miraculous benefits of aloe vera especially for skin and hair and it is a staple for most of us. I always have one tube handy all the time in my cabinet, sometimes even two 😀 as I tend to use it quite frequently year round and I feel it serves as an excellent face mask for an instant boost of hydration and soothing skin 😛 I got introduced to this brand through IMBB and have been wanting to try their products since the longest I can remember, but due to some or the other reason it always slipped out of my mind, finally sometime back while shopping online I ended up getting this one and here’s what I think about it.

My Experience with Khadi Aloe Vera Gel:

The gel comes in a simple sturdy transparent plastic bottle with a black flip cap which has a tiny hole to dispense product, the cap shuts well preventing product leakage, the packaging is not the best but good for the price and also very hygienic and the bottle dispenses product nicely upon squeezing. All the details, ingredients and everything are mentioned on the bottle itself. The product is not really pure as compared to other aloe vera gels in the market as it contains only 10 g of pure aloe vera extract for every 1 kg as mentioned in the ingredients which is extremely disappointing.
The gel inside looks light green colored but comes off sheer almost transparent. It has a mild fragrance; although it is artificial it is quite pleasant. I would have liked it even more if was color and fragrance free as it was certainly not needed , but then majority of the aloe vera gels in the market contain them.

I have used brihan’s and patanjali’s aloe vera gels before this and compared to them this one is slightly on the thick side. The gel does not feel heavy in any manner but when applied in excess as a moisturizer it feels slightly sticky for initial few minutes but eventual gets absorbed, which can be easily avoided by using tiny quantity, but it is common with other gel’s as well 😛 I mainly use it as a face mask and it feels slight cooling upon application initially. I apply a thick layer generously as while massaging some of it gets absorbed by skin and wash it off with water after 8 -10 minutes. After removing it my skin feels very soft and hydrated, following it by a moisturizer is not necessary on my oily skin; it did not cause any irritation or anything. It calms down my sensitive skin well especially when used after sun exposure.

In all it is an okay product for me, and works well as a face mask and hair mask not too great as a gel based moisturizerbut the ingredients and purity are a major turn off for this one.

Pros of Khadi Aloe Vera Gel:

• Decent packaging
• Hydrates and calms skin well
• Skin feels soft and supple after applying it
• Works well as a face mask
• Suitable for all skin types
• Easily available and reasonably priced
• Complete ingredients list is mentioned

Cons of Khadi Aloe Vera Gel:

• Has artificial color and fragrance added
• When used as a moisturizer takes time to get absorbed if applied in excess
• It not at all pure and contains very low amount of pure aloe vera extract when compared to other products.

Do I recommend Khadi Aloe Vera Gel?

I do not recommend it as there are much better aloevera gels available in the market and I shall stick to patanjali’s aloe vera gel as in terms purity it fares much better: P

IMBB Rating:

2.9/5

  1. Great review Sumera *clap* . I don’t think aloe vera gels should have artificial color or fragrance. Yes, there are better ones like fabindia gel.

      1. And Sayani sometimes a particular brand may not suit one’s skin so its best to try different brands as often I have heard that aloe vera soothes redness on skin and cures acne 🙂

    1. seriously *shock* , thankfully I did not suffer any breakouts even while using it thrice everyday in a row, but then my skin is not that acne prone as well *haan ji*
