Khadi Herbal Honey and Almond Oil Shampoo

Khadi Herbal Honey And Almond Oil Shampoo

By Shereefa

Hello IMBBians!!

This is my first review, so I hope I am doing it right and hope all of you like it.  I was in the search for a SLES and silicone-free shampoo since I was suffering from terrible hair fall. By the way, I started experiencing hair fall after using Biotique’s Bio Henna Shampoo, so stay away from that one!!

Khadi Herbal Honey and Almond Oil Shampoo

I am someone who uses a lot of chemicals and products in my hair and still had pretty good hair.  Also, I keep experimenting with products too and that’s how I started using Biotique’s Bio Henna *shudder*.  Anyhow, that’s when I came across an article about the harmful effects of SLS and silicone and decided to make the switch.  I am in Kerala and thus couldn’t get Suave or Enliven products. Thus, began my search for SLS and silicone free shampoo.  I purchased Khadi Herbal Honey and Almond Oil Shampoo from an online shopping site.  I have been using it for the past 2 weeks and I absolutely love it!!!

How does honey help hair?

Honey is a humectant and thus holds onto water molecules. It smoothens the cuticle and makes the hair soft and shiny.

How does almond oil help?

Almonds contain vitamin A, D, B1, B2 and B6, minerals like zinc, copper, manganese, iron and calcium, vitamin E and proteins. Do you need any more reasons??? These help in hair growth. It adds a sheen and shine to the hair. It is also good for hair loss, hair thinning and hair graying. Almond oil contains important fats and fatty acids that are good for your hair. The oil also acts as a cleansing agent and cleans away dust and pollutants. It also reduces scalp inflammation and helps get rid of dandruff.

My Experience with Khadi Herbal Honey and Almond Oil Shampoo:

It comes in a plastic bottle which is transparent and has a flip-open cap. Thus, it is easy to store and carry this oil during trips. The shampoo is clear and light pink in color. It has a very herbal smell (not unpleasant).  It is sort of runny in nature and not thick like other shampoos. When I first saw this, I wasn’t happy, but after using it, I am ecstatic.

It lathers well and can be washed off easily. It cleans the scalp and hair effectively and makes it squeaky clean (literally!). It cleanses hair easily even after oiling hair. I use Fab India’s Sesame Oil and it is quite thick and difficult to rinse off, but Khadi shampoo cleanses it out really well.

Honey

I have been using this oil with VLCC Wheat Protein Conditioner (silicone free).  My hair feels really soft and silky. So, I can’t tell whether it’s because of the shampoo or the conditioner.

Now, about my hair fall.  My hair fall has reduced drastically! The hair on my brush and hair fall while washing my hair and oiling my hair has also reduced. I absolutely love this product!

Since I am in a silicone free phase, I have stopped using serums too. I simply take 2 drops of almond oil and apply that to the ends of my hair after towel drying my hair.

Honey

Pros of Khadi Herbal Honey and Almond Oil Shampoo:

  • It is an herbal shampoo with the goodness of honey and almond oil.
  • It is dirt cheap.
  • SLS and silicone free.
  • Cleanses scalp and hair effectively.
  • Lathers well.

Cons of Khadi Herbal Honey and Almond Oil Shampoo:

  • Just that the consistency being runny, you end up needing quite a bit of the product.

Final Verdict:

Awesome shampoo!! Go for it if you have hair fall and want to use SLS and silicone free product.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5

  2. Shereefa this sounds good.. I am having dandruff and hairfall too.visited a derma who has prescribed hell lotta lotions and health supplements. I am too scared to use the shampoo he has prescribed.. I will give this a try before starting with the medicines that the doctor has prescribed.. Thanks for the review Shereefa :))

  3. this sounds really good. for the price its defy worth trying atleast once and if it works nothing like it. thanks for the wonderful review..

  4. I have one question – how come only 4 ingredients are listed? Does that mean that not all the ingredients are listed?
If so, then has the company made a claim of this shampoo being SLS and silicone free? Because if it has, I’m definitely getting this!
Good review, Shereefa! 🙂 Glad to know your hairfall reduced drastically! 🙂 🙂
Actually, I too am in a pickle, as stores in my city have stopped stocking Enliven – I was probably the only person buying the lot! 😛
And online sites only have the shampoos, not the conditioners. And help, ladies? Thanks 🙂

    1. Samantha…..I have the same issue with these herbal and ayurvedic concotions….they don’t list out the entire ingredient list and there is no pressure on these products to display the entire list…..

  5. Hi Shereefa,
The review sounds great to me and I am interested to use this product as well…:) I am newly located at Bangalore and I don’t have any idea where to get Khadi products. Even I wanted to be sure whether this product will stop my hair fall…as it is pathetic now…:P

  9. Thanks for the review, Shereefa. I have never had very good experience with Khadi shampoos or conditioners. I may give this one a try but the fact that the full ingredient list is not mentioned bothers me. :-/

  10. I wonder if they do this in the uk… I have started using SLS and parabens free shampoo and conditioner. I used a brand called Jasons. My hair is mug healthier and has less hair fall.
    Great post!

  11. Hi Shereefa, welcome to imbb. 🙂

I have used khadi shampoos for many years during my college days. Later for some reason they stopped working for my hair so I switched. 😀 But guess the ingredients listed on the bottle are the key ingredients and not the full list. Earlier they used to write *base* also as one of the ingr and used to give percentage wise breakdown of the list. Sad they have stopped it now. the all herbal list seems to work more marketing wise. But actually who cares, it it is working so well for you then be it. 🙂

  12. Hi Shereefa,
