Khadi Herbal Shampoo with Shikakai and Amla Shampoo Review

Hi girls,

I think we all love our hair, don’t we? And we all dream of being Rapunzel someday. I had very short hair as a kid, but I was inspired by the photos of my mom’s younger days (she had ankle length thick hair at that time), and after that, I started to grow my hair long. But maintaining long hair is quite a task.  It takes a whole lot of effort to wash it every day, dry it, and tie it up neatly before leaving for college. So often, I have to skip washing my hair. Also, as I have very oily skin, following my doctor’s advice, I had not oiled my hair for ten long years.  I have been suffering badly from dandruff and hair fall issues recently, so much so that I had to chop my hair short. None of the well-known branded shampoos were helping and I was planning to visit a doctor soon. But when I came across this product, I wanted to give it a try. Read on to know whether it was able to save my hair 😛

Ingredients:

Khadi Herbal Shampoo with Shikakai and Amla Shampoo

This one is again made up of all natural ingredients. We all have heard about the benefits of amla, shikakai, jatamansi for our hair. This one has them all. The only chemical present is the preservative used (they have not specified the name though).

Packaging:
Like every other Khadi product, this one too has the boring plastic bottle packaging. There is a black flip-top cap attached to the bottle. All the details of instructions, claims and ingredients are present on the label attached to the bottle. May be the only good thing about it is that you can see the amount of product left.  Frankly speaking, I believe beauty products should have an attractive packaging and this company should concentrate a bit more on that aspect.

My Experience with Khadi Herbal Shampoo with Shikakai and Amla Shampoo:

The product is honey colored; the color does not show much when you pour it in your hand. The consistency is runny and can be easily applied on to the scalp and hair. The fragrance is faint and nice and it lingers on even after you have washed your hair. But it does not give much lather. I oil my hair before shampoo these days, so do not know if it is due to that. But as long as it is effective in tackling my hair issues, I am ready to ignore that.

Khadi Herbal Shampoo with Shikakai and Amla Shampoo

I have been using this product twice a week and yes, it has worked in a way that every other shampoo has failed to. I could feel the dirt and grime getting washed off with the very first use. My dandruff problem has been controlled by this shampoo to a great extent. I was also suffering from itchy scalp, probably due to dandruff, but this shampoo has controlled that too.

Hair fall has reduced drastically and I love combing my hair these days. Also, you may choose to skip a conditioner if you are using this shampoo. I am not using any conditioner. Still after the final wash, my hair feels soft.  My hair feels soft, bouncy, and manageable.  So, it is essentially a hair cleanser that cleans away all the dirt and dandruff and gives you manageable, soft and nice-smelling hair.

  1. That’s a really great shampoo for all that it does at this price range. I personally never had good experience with Khadi shampoos, but love almost all of their products.
