Khadi Herbal Wine and Grapefruit Lip Balm Review

Khadi Herbal Wine and Grapefruit Lip Balm

Hello lovelies,

As I mentioned in my earlier post how IMBB tempted me to buy khadi products, here is one more product from my recent purchase. I am not at all a lip balm person, firstly because I don’t ever suffer from chapped lips and secondly because I am a hardcore lover of everything matte. But that doesn’t stop me from buying them :p we all have that habit no? buying stuff which we never intend to use much! The ‘grapefruit’ thing attracted me… citrusy sweet fragrance… also it was quite price friendly.

PRICE: INR 100 for 10gms.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: With beeswax and shea butter

My take on Khadi Herbal Wine and Grapefruit Lip Balm:

It comes in a small transparent jar packaging with screw cap. I am not a jar and tub packaging fan because it’s quite unhygienic and also difficult to use when compared to tubes. The balm looks deep purple in the jar but its transparent when a single swipe is applied on the lips, though it does imparts wine colour when slathered in good amount. The fragrance is strong citrusy sweet, I won’t say I loved it but neither did I hate it. It has a really bitter taste, almost that of orange peel, the first time when i applied it, it did sting me a lot. It almost felt like topical anaesthesia or a slight bee sting for around half n hour, but that doesn’t happen anymore, just a slight stinging sensation now for few minutes. Moisturises lips quite well, I’ve been applying it at night for a week or so and I wake up with plumper looking lips. Though it hasn’t done anything to my lip pigmentation and neither was I expecting it!

PS the lip balm they have sent me has two manufacturing defects! The label which consists of product description is stuck on the lower part of pot while the one with ingredient list and price tag is stuck on the lid! Second defect- the spelling error…. “graperfruit” :p

Pros of Khadi Herbal Wine and Grapefruit Lip Balm:

• Pocket friendly
• Its herbal! No chemicals!
• Plumps up the lips

Cons of Khadi Herbal Wine and Grapefruit Lip Balm:

• Bitter in taste
• Unhygienic pot packaging
• Not very pleasing aroma
• Does nothing for pigmentation
• No spf

WILL I BUY AGAIN? No! I prefer sticks or tubes with pleasing fragrance and moreover lip balms shouldn’t be bitter tasting!

RATING: 2/5
