Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator Review
Hello My Loves,
Today, I am back with another review of a product that I have recently fallen in love with. My combination skin is going nuts on me this winter and I need to take extra care of it. In winters, I have a love-hate relationship with exfoliation. They do take off all my dry and dead skin, but most exfoliators also leave my skin tight and irritated. I recently ran out of my exfoliating scrub, so I had to look for a new one. After getting good results with the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, I wanted to get something from the same line to help with my scars while exfoliating. I went ahead and got the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator.
My Skin Type: Combination-oily, acne prone, dry around mouth, jaw and forehead areas, oily on nose and cheeks.
125 ml/4.2 fl. oz.
Effectively cleans and exfoliates pores to minimize skin irregularities & dullness for a noticeably brighter complexion. Helps boost skin’s moisture level and maintain moisture balance. Leaves the skin refreshed, soft, smooth and clean.
My Experience with Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator:
What I love about Kiehl’s is that their products stay true to their claims. This exfoliator is one of the most gentle ones that I have used, so gentle that Kiehl’s says you can use it everyday!
The Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator came in quite a big white tube. The lid had snap closure, easy to open and use. The product is a semi transparent white cream with very small white exfoliating granules. This honestly reminds me a little of glitter.
When I first used this, I took 5 pea-sized amounts and started spreading it on my skin. I was actually stunned at how much I over used it. This product lathered so much and I instantly noticed how well the product spread over my skin. As I was rubbing it in circular motions, I noticed that the product developed a cleanser-type consistency and the granules eventually cannot be felt. Also, the semi-transparent white color eventually turns into an opaque white as you are using it. The product contains no colorants, parabens or fragrance, which is great for my sensitive skin!
The exfoliating granules did a great job at buffing my dead skin away. I have very sensitive skin that reacts to the mildest of irritation, but these granules were so gentle that it hardly bothered my skin. I even used it on an active breakout and it only removed the dry skin around it. No irritation or bad reaction.
On washing off, my skin was definitely brighter. I could see that this worked pretty much instantly. My skin was very smooth and touchable. It did not make my skin red, but my skin was “squeaky clean,” so I still felt the need to moisturize my skin. My skin always gets a little tight after cleansing or exfoliating, so I’m not complaining really.
One thing to remember about this product, is that you need very little for your entire face (maybe 2 pea sized amounts at the maximum). The tube will probably last me 5-6 months even on using it everyday. That is how little I need. This is definitely worth the price that I paid for it.
I have been using this every day for 2 weeks and I have visibly noticed lesser blackheads, my skin is definitely much brighter, and the scars are fading, slowly but steadily. This product shows faster results on fading acne scars if I use it with the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. Twice a week, I follow this up with the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque and my breakouts have reduced.
I do not expect more than this from an exfoliator. The only problem I have with this product is that it is not travel friendly. It is too big to carry around. Also, Kiehl’s is not a widely available brand, so that might be an issue for some.
Pros of Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator:
- Fades acne scars on regular use.
- Gentle enough for everyday use.
- Little goes a long way.
- Buffs away all dry and dead skin.
- Skin looks visibly brighter and feels smooth instantly.
- Great quantity for the price.
- Does not aggravate acne.
- No parabens, colorants or fragrance.
Cons of Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator:
- Takes time to show visible results on scars. (I’m patient, so this isn’t really a con for me, but you will not see miracles on your scars/discolorations with this product).
- This is not available in most cities.
- The packaging is not travel friendly.
- Must moisturize after exfoliation, as skin will feel tight.
All in all, my skin loves this product. I rate this 4.8/5 and would definitely recommend this to all of you.
