Kiehl’s Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm Review

Kiehl’s Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm Review

Kiehl's+Eucalyptus+Lip+Relief+Balm+Review

So, I have been travelling a lot, and hoarding stuff like crazy, but I didn’t really get a lot of time to write about them for a long time now, so now I am determined to make time for reviewing them (as you may notice even this review was written over the gap of a few days). I bought a lot of good stuff (and some not-so-good) which I would love to share with everyone.  I will start with the Kiehl’s Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm. I had really long flights a short while back, and I was desperately in need of a good lip balm, as my regular ones were stashed deep into my bags, and my lips were very dry and chapped, so I needed a miracle-worker at that time.  So, I saw a Kiehl’s at the Atlanta airport and breathed a sigh of relief as I had heard a lot of good things about their lip balms. Let’s see how it fared.

Product Description:

Our no-shine lip treatment soothes dehydrated, parched lips. Formulated with restorative Eucalyptus, ultra-hydrating Cactus Flower, and invigorating Tibetan Ginseng, this cooling, protective balm helps to mend cracking lips and maintain healthy moisture in-flight or any time.

Ingredients:

The ingredients are mentioned in the back, shown in the photograph. It’s a bit difficult to read due to the curved packaging though.

Price:

I bought it for $9 (for 0.5 fl. oz. or 15 ml) from the Atlanta airport.

Packaging:

It’s a white coloured simple tube packing, which is easy to use, and no-fuss when you need to use it quickly. I personally like this packaging, way better than the tub packaging, and find it comparable to the twist-up packs. Actually this one seems better, since it is hygienic to use if somebody else wants to use it too. You might need to use your fingertips to apply this though, which some may not like.

My Take on Kiehl’s Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm:

Okay, so I had a total of 33 hours of journey, which was tiresome, and very taxing on my skin, and especially on my face. My lips were continually dehydrated, and felt very chapped when I started using this to counter the ill-effects, and as soon as I applied it, I felt so much better! As it says, it has a cooling effect, and feels kind of minty, and tingles for a short time, then goes back to normal. It feels very light, and not waxy at all, unlike some other lip balms which feel as if they formed a layer on your lips.

It stays on for quite a bit, but it really depends on the condition of your lips, like at that time, I had to reapply about every 2-3 hours but now, I don’t feel the need to reapply for many hours. So, of course it can’t “mend” chapped lips in a day, but yes, it did a miracle job of making my lips soft and supple within 2-3 days! They have never felt better. I usually have very dry lips (even during summers), so this was a blessing to me. Also, a very tiny quantity is required which means it will last me months, so I won’t need to go looking for replacements. But I’m not sure if this is freely available in all Kiehl’s stores, or was it some special travel-edition only available in the airport. I hope it’s the former.

Overall, I loved the product and would definitely repurchase, and totally recommend it to others! And I got free samples!

Pros of Kiehl’s Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm:

  • It is very moisturizing for the lips.
  • It has a minty flavor (presumably due to Eucalyptus) which gives a cooling sensation.
  • It feels very light on the lips, no heavy feeling.
  • Naturally-derived ingredients are used.
  • Repaired my severely chapped lips.
  • Specially formulated for travel and flights.

Cons of Kiehl’s Eucalyptus Lip Relief Balm:

  • They test on animals. Frankly, I didn’t know it and was quite disappointed when I searched.

IMBB Rating:

So, I was in a dilemma about the product due to the animal testing thing, but then let it go because I was using it anyway when I didn’t know about it. So, I will rate it only from a product point of view.  I give it 4.8/5.

I hope to keep writing more reviews as I have hoarded a lot of stuff that I want everyone to know about. Until next time, stay beautiful 🙂
