Hello Everyone!

I am back with another product review. This time it is a lip balm from the brand Kiehl’s. I love this brand, and it’s Midnight concentrate is on my wish list for quite some time now and hope to buy soon. This lip balm comes in many flavors the one that I bought was mint as this is perfect for summer. Let us read on to know more about this product.

Product Description: Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is a SPF 4 sunscreen petrolatum skin protectant that temporarily protects and helps relieve chapped or cracked lips as well as helps protect lips from the drying effects of wind and cold weather. Apply liberally to lips and allow an excess of the balm to be absorbed.

My Experience with Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 Mint

Let me first start with the packing, it is quite boring and looks like typical packing of kiehl’s products. The balm comes in a white squeeze tube with the text printed in classic black color on white background. The only color that they use is to mention the flavor of the balm, in this case blue as flavor in Mint. But I still like it in a weird way. It can be a bit inconvenient to use compared to stick form, as you tend to squeeze out more product than desired. Personally,  it’s not my favorite dispensing system.

The texture is jelly like that of petroleum jelly (looks like Vaseline) and has a light yellow tint. It smells and tastes like mint. The scent is nice and not too overpowering. The texture is very smooth and glides smoothly on lips. The balm is thick in consistency still it does not give a greasy look to lips. It gives a nice soothing and tingling effect to lips after application, but the effect does not stay for long.

It does heal dry and chapped lips to an extent but the SPF rating is 4 and is very low, looking at the exposure I have to outdoors and it is not enough. The tube has 15 ml which will go for a long time. I use it 2-3 times during day and I must say that by end of the day my lips are well moisturized and nourished. It does not do much for pigmented lips, but definitely does make lips uniform after continuous application.

Overall it is a good lip balm if you can compromise on SPF and needs a good nourishing lip balm. Although I still feel that there are some nice budget options  available.
