Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1

Ingredients : Petrolatum, Octinoxate, Squalane, Lanolin, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) germ oil, Tocopherol, Allantoin, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Aloe Barbadenis Leaf Extract.
My Experience :
It is a liquidy clear lip balm with no taste or fragrance. For me it is quite an okay-dokey lip balm. The good stuff is that it keeps my lips moisturized and even repairs my chapped lips. It makes my lip super soft in morning after I apply it at night. If I use teeny bit of it underneath my lipstick, it helps maintain the moisture of my lips. Comes in a tube packaging,which is pretty hygienic. If you use very little of it, it does not feel waxy, greasy or heavy on lips.
The not so good stuff is that the packaging is *yaawnn* boring. For this price, I’d expect some interesting packaging. It is very liquidy so you end up wasting it every time you squeeze a tube. If you apply a bit more of it , your lips look oil slicked. Then you cannot apply a lipstick or gloss on top of it at all. Contains SPF 4, which is as good as not having any sun protection. Contains loads of parabens. I don’t find it travel friendly. You have to keep the cap very tight all the time or else the balm may spill and spoil your bag.
I don’t think I’d be repurchasing it. It keeps lips soft but then my TBS lip balms also do that at almost half the price ,and with cuter packaging. Enjoy using it if you get it as a gift. 😉

I have the same one!!! And feel the same thing abt it.. Once when I didn’t know that it’s so liquidy.. I end up wasting so much that my friend exclaimed- you have wasted Rs.50 already! 😛
But I like the plus points.. and agree..the packaging is very boring!

I have th jar one..that is not so liquidy rati..I love how it heals my chapped lips in a jiffy..plus totally non sticky..
oh really bhumika. This also works fine but it is a pain to carry around. i mean I throw my lip balms so carelessly in my bags. cant think of doing the same with this. :((

Hello everybody..i am from mumbai,i love reading your blog..and i want to share with you all horrible experience which i had with this product..i always wanted to try kiehl’s no 1 lip balm…since its their best selling lip balm,and when kielhl’s launched their store in mumbai(inorbit) i went and purchased it,but when i saw it for the 1st time..it looked quite old n it even smelled chemicalish..i checked expiary on lable n everything was fine,but still to confirm i called at store and asked them reason for chemicalish smell and they told me that its within expiary and everything is fine…almost all kiehl’s products smell chemicalish but they are safe.well i used it for almost two months regularly and then i read an article on cosmetic calculator on this blog…and i immediately checked all my products..and my doubt was reality this product was more than three years old,i stoped using it from then,i use to use it regularly n it never harmed me but still who likes to use expired products..i lost the bill which i got when i purchased this n when i went to store to inform this they were like madam you must have purchased this long back from somewhere n they were not ready to believe me that i got this lipbalm recently from their stores,obviously i dont use it now but i am scared to use kiehl’s products..i use to think kiehl’s being a good brand but now i dont think so..i just thought like sharing this with you all so that next time you purchase anything from kiehl’s you will check it on cosmetic calculator and thanks for posting article on cosmetic calculator..it was really helpful and i really love your blog..its really interesting n informative..keep up the good work..tc and yes 18G800 is batch no of my kiehl’s ip balm do check it bye

ever since i read the Faces Lip balm in Vanilla review on IMBB I have been all enthu abt buying a lip balm. 🙂 Wish ths one had worked for u especially considering it is Kielhl’s and the fact that it is priced so high for a lip balm..:(

Hi Rati di…you could put the lip balm in the refrigerator for sometime to make it a bit more solid and not so liquidy..and btw even my lip balms are melting due to the heat especially the himalaya lippie 🙁
I don’t care how wonderful it is. If it doesn’t look pretty after all the money I spent on it, I don’t want it! 😛
