I am finally done with reviewing the tonnes of eyeshadows from KIKO, and it was a big task. KIKO was my first ever “HAUL” kind of haul and I promised my husband that I am not going to shop any more cosmetics for the year. But I already have a parcel coming in from the US and I am eagerly waiting for my husband’s next visit to Europe. I am now jumping over to the lipsticks that I got from KIKO. Trust me, they are superb and I have never been as impressed with lipsticks before. Getting to you today, a lipstick from their Ultra Glossy Stylo SPF 15 Lipstick range. I have three shades in this range and todays review will be on #809 Ruby Red.

The lipstick comes in a black matte cardboard box. The lipstick bullet is housed in a same black matte metallic tube. The lipstick bullet comes right up to the brim of the casing. The cap shuts firmly and won’t get opened by itself in the bag or purse. The lipstick is sleek and easy to carry around. The number of the lipstick is mentioned on the carton. The name is mentioned on the website, but not on the carton or the lipstick itself.

My Experience with KIKO 809 Ruby Red Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipstick SPF 15:

Ruby Red is a gorgeous red shade. This red is just the perfect blend of classy and soberness as this red is not too bright or the “in your face” kind, and can be used for office wear as well. The bullet seems to have a bit of orange tint to it, but not when applied. It looks like a pure red.

It is void of any shimmer particles. As the name suggests, this lipstick is creamy and glossy. It imparts the perfect gloss and shine required without being over the top. The texture of this lipstick is like butter – extremely soft and creamy. It is buttery soft and you can feel it even when you look at the bullet before applying it. It will glide on your lips like a dream. It does not tug or pull during application at all. But if the lips are not properly exfoliated, it would look a bit crumbled on the lips. I don’t need any lip balm beneath this shade, but let me remind you that I have extremely dry lips and I started feeling the need of a lip balm in around 4-5 hours.

The pigmentation is good and although it looks dark in the bullet, it really is not. You can increase the intensity by layering, but I find it to be little heavy if layered too much. The staying power is good enough for 5-6 hours after which it starts fading away, but leaves a reddish tint to the lips. This color will definitely suit all skin tones. These are not waterproof and tend to transfer a bit to the cutlery. But all said and done, I totally love it! 🙂
