KIKO Cosmetics 225 Indigo Blue Water Eyeshadow Review

We all know there are gems of makeup brands lying all around the word. Each country has some lesser known companies world over and everybody have their eye on those products. Same thing is with KIKO cosmetics. It is from Italy and has its outlet in a very few countries, namely U.K, U.S, Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal, France, Spain and Switzerland. It delivers online but only to U.K and European countries. So just cross your fingers for India to be its next destination. I purchased two eye shadows and one blush on my trip to London. All product review will come one by one as I test and try them on me.

Price: GBP 5 (approximately INR 475).

Availability:
All across Europe and UK (London). Within US- New Jersey and Florida have their stores.
You can get them online if you live in Europe and U.K. Bad luck for India though.

My Experience with KIKO Cosmetics 225 Indigo Blue Water Eyeshadow:

Packaging:
Packaging is quite attractive and resembles NARS Dual Intensity eye shadows. The whole box is black in color with ‘KIKO Milano’ written on top of lid. The back of the box has manufacturing weight and shade details written on it. The amount of product is 2.2g, which according to me is more than sufficient.

As we open the box, the lid has a small mirror. The eye shadow has a 3-D wave like structure. It has lines all over it. It looks quite attractive actually. You can use these as wet or dry eye shadow.

Texture:
The eye shadows are very silky. The pigment tends to slip between fingers smoothly. The consistency you can say is neither soft nor hard. Even on trying to take a swatch with pressure, the lines on the surface did not yield.
When taking a dry swatch, there is no fall out. You can say texture is not that crumbly. When took a wet swatch, the lines got little bit distorted which is obvious.

When applied on eyes they blend very easily and transfer onto the skin very evenly. Even after applying it is not drying on skin. You can say it is moisturizing. Few eye shadows from other companies when used dry actually absorb the moisture from that area and feel icky.

The shade is shimmery but the shimmer is so finely melted that it comes out as a nice sheen on application. I am glad that in this shadow range, you can use a few shadows as highlighters, blush and bronzers too.

Pigmentation:
The eye shadow has a nice shimmery finish on being used dry. When it is used wet the finish changes to metallic. In both the case the pigmentation is out of this world. The pigmentation can also be compared to NARS dual intensity shadows.

Basically these eye shadows are dupes of NARS dual intensity eye-shadows texture wise.

Staying power:
Staying power is very good. On my oily lids it stays without a primer for up to 8 hours without creasing. I wonder how much more hours it will stay put if used with primer.

I mixed it with a makeup setting spray and used it. It stayed pretty much all day for 12 hours. I bet with a setting spray longevity might be up to 24 hrs. These particular colors are party wear so staying on will not be a problem.

Pros of KIKO Cosmetics 225 Indigo Blue Water Eyeshadow:

• Very vibrant colors.
• Longevity is superb.
• Buttery texture.
• Transfers well on the skin.
• Not heavy on pocket.
• Smart, sleek and sturdy packaging.

Cons of KIKO Cosmetics 225 Indigo Blue Water Eyeshadow:

• Comes out to be little bit hard in the container but not a big problem.

IMBB Rating: 4.8/5

  1. Wow that’s a nice tiny shadow. I really like its packaging – despite being so tiny, it comes with a mirror and that it’s sturdy. And, the shade is, without a doubt, one of my favorite ones for eye makeup. It complements my skin tone and eyes very well. 🙂

  2. NARS dupe? I am sold 😛 Looks like a good shade but I wouldn’t go for this shade since it is too bold for my taste. Otherwise it looks like a very promising product 😀
