My Experience with Kiko Milano 311 Poppy Red Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick:

Let’s begin with packaging of the product, as I have fallen in love with it. The lipstick comes in a black colored cardboard box having all product details written on it in simple white fonts. Each and every necessary product information is written on the carton expect the shade name, only the shade number is mentioned on it. So, I had to check their website for shade name of the respective shade no. Inside this box comes a very beautiful and attractive lipstick tube. The lipstick tube is colored. The metallic colors of the packaging complement each other very nicely and the matte finish makes the lipstick tube even more gorgeous. The cap is bullet gray in color and bears the brand name on it in simple white fonts.

The twist up thing of the lipstick works pretty smooth. The base of the lipstick tube has a sticker on it mentioning its shade number. Though, the packaging has nothing like a color-coded body or sticker and they don’t even have the names of the lipsticks on it, it gets difficult to remember the shade numbers. But, I am so much in love with the packaging, that I do not mind the above-mentioned things as actually a flaw. The cap of the lipstick has some magnet in it, so the cap fits with a quick magnetic grip and it does not come off while carrying around. The shape of the lipstick bullet is quite unique and it has the brand’s logo embossed on it. Overall, the packaging is so innovative and travel friendly.

The shade “Poppy Red” is a gorgeous warm toned red. It looks so beautiful and vibrant on the lips. This makes it a perfect bridal shade. The shade is not too bright and can be carried anywhere easily. The lipstick is totally free from any sheen or shimmers. The lipstick has an average pigmentation. The color is easily buildable. It delivers semi-opaque finish in a single swipe. Two-three swipes give perfect rich and opaque color. The lipstick has a very mild vanilla essence, that is barely noticeable and totally non-bothering. The smell hardly last for a few minutes and fades away gradually.

The texture of the lipstick is smooth and slightly on a creamier side. It goes so effortlessly on the lips and does not cause any dragging of the lips. It almost feels buttery while gliding on the lips. The texture is so lightweight and feels ultra-comfortable on the lips. It feels like I have not applied anything on my lips. The lipstick sets to a lovely velvety matte finish as it indicates. I really love the texture and finish of this lip color.

Though, it is creamy matte but it has the tendency to cling to the dry patches and highlight them badly. So, it is mandatory to exfoliate and moisturize the lips well. The lipstick has good moisturization and hydration properties. My lips never feel dry with this lipstick on my lips. It does not flake at all. The lipstick never smudges and stays at place all the time.

The lasting power of the lipstick is amazing. It easily lasts for more than 6 hours on my lips, without any meals in between but with regular sipping of water. It survives meals too, with a little fading from the inner corners of the lips. The lipstick is very easy to remove. It never stains the lips.
