Kiko Milano Shine Refine Papers Mattifying Wipes Review

Skin type: Combination, oily around the T-zone

Hey everyone,

I recently discovered the Kiko Milano Shine Refine skincare range which is meant for oily skin. These products are targeted for oil control as well as hydration (how amazing is that). This is my second review of this skincare range. I have already reviewed the Kiko Milano Shine Refine Day Sebum Balancing Gel Cream. In this review, I will be talking about the mattifying blotting papers from this range. Summer is here and oily-combination skin demands blotting papers. Read on to know how these blotting sheets worked for me.

Kiko Milano Shine Refine Papers Mattifying Wipes Review

Price: $7 for 100 blotting sheets
Product Description:
100 powdered blotting sheets for quick, shine-reducing touch-ups. The blotting papers mattify the face, especially the T-zone, absorb excess oil and help make-up last longer. A dusting of powder accentuates the make-up and prolongs its hold. Practical for taking with you everywhere for quick touch-ups.
Ideal for combination to oily skin.
Dermatologically tested.

How to Use:
Using the powdered side, blot shiny areas of the face. Each sheet is for a single use only.
Ingredients:
Kaolin, Bentonite, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Metaphosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Propylene Glycol, Aqua (Water/eau)

My Experience with Kiko Milano Shine Refine Papers Mattifying Wipes:

Packaging:
The product is enclosed in a rectangular cardboard box in dual tones of mint green and silver, this colour code is followed for the entire Shine Refine range. The box contains ingredient information and product description in various languages. It also contains a pamphlet with information about products from the Shine Refine range and directions for usage.

Kiko Milano Shine Refine Papers Mattifying Wipes Packaging

The blotting sheets come in a white plastic pouch with a flap. The blotting sheets can be pulled from the pouch just like tissue papers. The white plastic pouch protects the blotting sheets from other items in your bag or purse. Overall, the packaging is efficient and travel-friendly.

Performance:
This is my first time using blotting sheets and when I tried the sample at the store, I found the idea of blotting sheets funny because they just look like the sheet that Indian sweets are wrapped in (and they must be cheaper than this). Anyway, one side of these blotting sheets is powdered and that side has to be used to blot away the oil. These blotting sheets are very efficient at soaking up the excessive oil.

It is very satisfying to watch the sheets turning transparent with every touch-up on the T-zone. One sheet is enough to take care of the excess oil on my T-zone. In addition to the removal of excess sebum, they also mattify the skin due to the powder present on the sheets. I looked up the ingredient list, and this powder is not talc but kaolin clay. This is an amazing use of kaolin clay in my opinion.

Now, whenever I use these sheets to blot, I never observed any makeup coming off with them. So, I can say that they are makeup-friendly. The mattifying effect lasts for 3-4 hours on warm summer days on my combination skin, which is quite decent. I feel the need to touch-up my face once a day during the afternoon, so 100 blotting sheets should last me about 3-4 months. This makes the product very economical as well.

Overall:
I love this product on its own. It works perfectly with the Kiko Milano Shine Refine Day Sebum Balancing Gel Cream. For me, these blotting sheets are perfect as they take 1-2 mins to use and the face looks fresh again, without removing any makeup.
