Eyelid Type: Oily
Today’s review is on Kiko Milano Smart Colour Eye Pencil in the shade “16 Metallic Anthracite”. Keep reading this for knowing my conclusion on it.
Coloured eye pencil for the waterline and lash line that delivers a precise, uniform line of intense colour. The pencil’s bright colour draws on without a problem. The soft, smooth-gliding texture applies perfectly on the upper and lower lash line and waterline. Choose from 16 colours available in three different finishes: matte, pearl and metallic. Ophthalmologically tested.
How to Apply:
Apply to the waterline and/or lash line until you obtain the desired colour intensity.

My Experience with Kiko Milano Smart Colour Eye Pencil 16 Metallic Anthracite:
Packaging: Starting off with the packaging, this crayon pencil comes in a regular, sleek black crayon pencil form and is a sharpenable pencil. No sharpener has been provided with the pencil. It has a color-coded bottom which makes the shade identification easier. The cap sits securely in place. The packaging looks very simple and nothing fancy. Maybe adding a colour-coordinated cap to this product would have increased the packaging value and helped at instant shade identification instead of putting it at the bottom.
The product body bears only the shade name about the product. Initially, the pencil comes packed in a cellophane wrapper to prevent tampering with the packaging. All the product details are written on the body of the pencil itself. The only con in the packaging is that these pencils are not retractable; rather it needs to be sharpened regularly. The pencil can be sharpened using a normal sharpener. Sharpening means unwanted wastage of product which is disappointing. Overall, the packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly.
Shade: The shade “16 Metallic Anthracite” is a beautiful super gorgeous blackish grey shade. It gives a beautiful metallic finish when swatched, but the metallicness is not overwhelming. The colour might look blackish in the picture, but it’s not. There are no glitters or shimmers visible when you swatch it. I really love this shade and it brightens up my look. It is gorgeous and is suitable for everyday wear.
This shade is a good substitute to take a break from wearing classic black and brown liners. For someone who loves coloured liners but don’t want to go for very vibrant eye makeup, I would definitely recommend this shade. It will suit all skin tones beautifully.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this eye pencil is not very rich and could have been better. It needs 2-3 swipes to get the true colour payoff. Also, I had to put a little pressure to draw the lines on my eyes so it is not that effortless as eyeliner. You might want to draw multiple lines if you want to create a more intensified and broader eyeliner look. The colour intensity that you would obtain in a single swipe or in a multiple swipe varies prominently. The colour shows up on eyes well.
Texture and Finish: The texture of this eye pencil is medium soft, smooth and it sets to a beautiful subtle metallic finish which looks really gorgeous. The finish lacks any glossiness. It glides on smoothly like a dream without any pulling or tugging. The formula is creamy and blends like a dream. Since this eyeliner has no hint of visible glitter or shimmer, so you can wear it easily at any time of the day. This eyeliner can be applied on the upper lash line, waterline and the lower lash line effortlessly.
This eye pencil is not perfectly smudgeproof or transfer-proof as the formulation is creamy. If you have very oily eyelids, then it will start getting messy and will look faded after a few hours. It is not waterproof also. Sometimes, I use this coloured eyeliner alone and sometimes, I pair it with a black liner. When I pair it with a black liner, I use the black liner on the upper lash line and the coloured liner on the water line of my eyes. You can also use it as an eyeshadow and blend the colour on the lid to get a soft but glam look. I can use this liner to create different types of looks. Overall, I loved the formulation of this eye pencil.
Staying Power: The staying power of this eyeliner is not very impressive. It will stay in place for about 4-5 hours on the upper eyelids without smudging. After that, the colour fades from the inner corner of the eyes. On the water line, it stays for about 5 hours after which the colour intensity fades. Those who have oily lids, it is advisable to prime your lids with a loose powder or an eye primer for oil absorption and increased longevity of the liner. This liner comes off easily with any makeup remover. I used the Garnier micellar water for removing this liner.
Overall: It is a highly wearable colour. The texture, pigmentation and shade are good but its staying power is not something praiseworthy. It definitely did not leave a mark with its performance, so I can’t say it is way too good. If you want some good quality eye products and at the same time you are concerned about the price, then this range is for you. So, I am happy with the purchase.
