Kiko Milano Solar Protect Glow SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream Review

Skin Type: Combination, oily around the T-zone

Hey everyone,

I am back with an another product that I picked up during my Kiko Milano haul – the Solar Protect Glow SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream. I was looking for a sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection with at least 30 SPF and hence, I picked this one up. This one is also water-resistant. Read on to know how it fared out for me.

Kiko Milano Solar Protect Glow SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream Review

Product Description:
Facial sunscreen that protects against photoaging, high protection (SPF 30). A fast-absorbing cream for fair skin that burns easily and is slow to tan. The cream is ideal for intense sun exposure, for a gradual tan sun and for the first few days of sunbathing. The product prevents rashes and sun spots, and provides long-lasting moisture* for an intense, natural and radiant tan.The light texture glides on easily and gives tanned skin a radiant glow. The innovative ANTI OX UV DEFENCE sunscreen protects against UVA/UVB/IR rays and oxidative stress. This system ensures complete sun protection, maintaining your skin’s beauty by means of an intense antioxidant action. The latest filters that retain their integrity upon exposure to heat and light provide advanced protection against the following:
– UVB rays, which penetrate the epidermis and are responsible for immediately visible reactions such as rashes, burns and dehydration;
– UVA I and UVA II rays, which penetrate the dermis to variable depths and are responsible for photo-aging: discolouration, sun spots, wrinkles and intense dehydration;
– the thermal effects due to IR rays, which generate heat causing dehydration and an increase in free radicals, responsible for skin aging.
Dermatologically tested to ensure sun protection, thermostability, photostability, water resistance and hydration.

My Experience with Kiko Milano Solar Protect Glow SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream:

The sunscreen tube is enclosed in an orange cardboard box which contains all kind of information about the product including the ingredients list. The tube itself is a lovely orange colour. This sunscreen will be easy to spot in your vanity. The product has a flip cap which makes it easy to dispense the right amount of product. Overall, the packaging is efficient and travel-friendly.

Coming to the consistency of the product, it is basically like a cream which has a slightly heavy texture and spreads very easily across the skin. You need a small amount to cover your entire face. After application, the sunscreen doesn’t leave behind an oily residue, but the skin feels very well moisturised. It feels like I have put on a heavy moisturiser. Thus, you can skip the moisturizer with this sunscreen. The product doesn’t leave a white cast either.

Coming to the performance of the product, on its own, the sunscreen doesn’t make me sweat. But what I have observed is, it still remains on the skin after sweating. So, kudos to the water-resistant formula. The product has a mild fragrance which resembles a typical sunscreen scent. It isn’t overpowering. With this sunscreen on, my nose starts to become oily within 3 hours. With the Kiko Milano Shine Refine Day Sebum Balancing Gel Cream underneath, this effect is delayed to 6 hours. For me personally, the oiliness isn’t a problem because, I carry the Kiko Milano Shine Refine Day Mattifying Papers normally and just use it to blot away the oil. However, if you plan to remain outdoors, this sunscreen will need reapplication and that can might make your skin oily. So, I will definitely not recommend this for the oily skin types. People with dry skin will love this sunscreen and combination skin types like mine will find it tolerable. I say tolerable (despite the oil showing up on my nose), because this sunscreen offers a lot on its own, it offers UVA+UVB+Infrared protection with a paraben-free and water-resistant formulation.

Overall, I like this product for all the protection it offers with the water-resistant and paraben-free formulation. This formulation will not work for oily skin types though.
