Hello Beautiful Ladies

Today’s review is another eyeshadow from KIKO. I have till date never used cream based eyeshadows and so wanted to try this out.

My Experience with KIKO Pearly Warm Rose 02 Cream Crush Lasting Colour Eyeshadow:

Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in a small round glass bottle packed in a square cardboard box. The ingredients are mentioned on the back of the cardboard carton and the shade number is written on the bottom of the glass bottle. Although the name is mentioned on the website it is nowhere to be seen on the eyeshadow pot or the carton. It is not very bulky but a little heavy to carry around on travels being a glass pot.

The Company Claims:
Highly blendable, long-lasting cream eyeshadow. The silky and soft texture goes on easily for bold eye make-up that stays on for up to 10 hours*.The formula applies perfectly to the eyelids and feels weightless. The bright shades with velvety finishes add a touch of style to every look. Cream Crush Lasting Colour Eyeshadow is enclosed in an elegant glass pot which allows you to clearly see the colour. Available in 16 colour shades with matte or pearl finishes. For external use. Ophthalmologically tested. Hypoallergenic = formulated to ensure minimum instance of allergic reactions. Paraben free.
* Clinical-instrumental test conducted on 20 women for up to eight hours. The data of 10 hours was obtained through linear interpolation.

Pearly Warm Rose is a warm champagne pink colour. I ordered it because it looked more of a mauve shade on the website. But when I got it the shade was more of pink. This one is basically a cream based eye shadow; absolutely creamy and soft in texture. The finishing is very smooth. There are no glitters and it seems a bit creamy when you are applying it but settles down to a matte finish. Although it is blendable it has to be done super-fast as I noticed that the eyeshadow sets in very quick say a minute or so and then it becomes difficult to blend it. I did not use an eye primer but a base would not only increase the durability of it but will enhance the shade further.

The pigmentation is very good and just a little is needed as single application gives full justice to the colour. It is extremely lightweight and so you can layer it too and it won’t feel heavy on the eyelids. Also it stays on for around 5-6 hours on me as that is the maximum I have worn it. It generally does not budge but it will look greasy on oily eyelids and an oil absorbent eyeshadow base is highly recommended. It does not come off easily with water completely and hence using an eye makeup remover is wiser as we would not want to rub on the eyelids.

The only drawback I feel is that there is no dedicated applicator for this one and the mouth of the bottle is too small. I had to insert my finger straight into it and then it gets right under your nails wasting it. Not hygienic also. I need a special brush for this one. Also this particular shade does not look that great on me. But will suit fair toned beauties. Also this shade is more of a ‘makeup but no makeup’ kind of day shade. Although I love the formula and concept, this color is just not for me.

  1. I like its packaging, such a cutie it is! I think this shade won’t work for me also, though it’s a beautiful one.
