Today’s review will be on Kiko Unlimited Stylo #03 Hibiscus Red. This is not a new product or line from Kiko lipsticks. Last year, I had reviewed #02 Pearly Vintage Rose.

My Experience with Kiko Unlimited Stylo 003 Hibiscus Red Long-lasting Lipstick:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a black cardboard box. The number of the lipstick is mentioned at the top of the carton and the ingredients on the backside. The lipstick bullet is housed in a sleek, slim, metallic silver casing with the number of the lipstick at its bottom. Although the outer casing is metallic, it is in no way slippery while application. It has a twist-up mechanism.
The cap of the lipstick shuts with a click and hence would not open on its own and is very sturdy. The lipstick seems to be right up to the brim and hence one has to be careful while closing the cap as it might rip off some piece of it. The name of the lipstick is mentioned on the website, but not on the lipstick itself or the carton. There is a small sticker on the lipstick casing representing the shade it belongs to, hence easy identification.
Shade: Hibiscus Red is a very bright and gorgeous reddish-pink shade. It is somewhere between a bright red and bright pink. A perfect combination of a carnation and hibiscus flower, neither too pink nor too red. This shade will instantly brighten up your face. It’s also a shade that will go well with all skin types. It will look much brighter on fair skin compared to dark complexion. There are no shimmers in it. The finish of this lipstick is semi matte. Not matte enough to look dry or shiny enough to look glossy.
Texture and Pigmentation: Hibiscus Red is super duper creamy, just like butter feels when it is taken out of fridge and kept outside in normal temperature for a few hours. It will glide on the lips without any effort, absolutely no tugging or pulling. Since it is super creamy, it will crumble on lips that have not been exfoliated.
Also, it feels very hydrating, but I still use a lip balm beneath. Pigmentation is crazy for this Hibiscus Red, just one swipe and you will get the true shade on the lips. Layering will make it look darker but also a bit heavy, but I guess one or two swipes gives full justice. Also, due to good pigmentation, it imparts full coverage to pigmented lips.
Lasting Power: The shade lasts for around 5-6 hours. It fades a bit with munching and meals, but does not transfer much to cutlery. I had to use a makeup remover to get rid of it completely. It is not completely waterproof but only water won’t help. It has an amazing vanilla smell to it also. I totally totally love this shade and formulation of lipstick.

- Will look crumbly on lips that have not been exfoliated well.
- Will feel a bit heavy if layered.
- Not completely waterproof.
