Packaging: The lipstick comes in a black matte cardboard box. The lipstick is housed in a metallic pearly gold tube. The cap is in a similar metallic bronzy gold color. The mechanism of this lipstick is a bit different and I have never seen something like this before. The cap closes on firmly and does not open easily on its own. To open you need to push the top of the cap and it eventually pushes the lipstick down. The cap closes with a click. The lipstick has a twist-up mechanism. The lipstick is chubby but very travel friendly. The number of the lipstick is mentioned on the carton and the base of the lipstick. The name is mentioned on the website but not on the carton or the lipstick itself.
My Experience with KIKO Velvet Matt-Satin Lipstick #614 Dark Berry:
Dark Berry is a soft plum shade with brown undertones. Unlike its name, it is not very dark. This one is a mature color and it kind of enhances your features. There are no shimmers in it. Again since this one belongs to the matt range, it has no shine or gloss.
The texture is soft but not very creamy or butter like. But on the contrary whereas the #604 Bright Orange looks dry in the bullet, #614 Dark Berry does not. Dark Berry glides easily on the lips while application. But as a thumb rule, do exfoliate and use a lip balm. It would not crumble since it is not that creamy. Also, this shade is opaque enough to cover pigmentation of the lips. Dark Berry gives a very even and smooth finishing. Even though it has a matt finishing, in no way it looks dry.
The pigmentation is good and one can play around the intensity as required. I personally like applying two layers as it brightens up my face. This lipstick is light on lips but still layering leads to feeling a bit sticky. The staying power is good enough for 5-6 hours after which it starts fading away from the center of the lips. It leaves a soft mauvish tint to the lips. It does transfer a bit to the cutlery. These are not waterproof and do not have any bothersome smell.
This shade looks a bit different in hand swatches and lip swatches. It looks more of pinkish plum when the lip swatches are clicked due to light and focus.
