Ola bonita chicha’s!
If you are guessing what that means, it means ‘Hello pretty ladies’ or something to that effect! So I have another summer staple for you today, well it is a definite staple for me with my terribly all year round flaky and dry lips i.e. lip balm!! I have one in my purse, a spare in my makeup bag, one in the dashboard… well you get the picture! I constantly need to moisturise my lips even when I am drinking plenty of fluids to hydrate myself. So if you are in the same boat as me or are just looking for a wonderful lip balm here is one that I would like to share with you!
The Kiss My Face lip balm comes in ginger mango, strawberry, coconut pineapple, passion fruit and cranberry orange too but today I have for you the Sliced Peach scent! I did have a difficult time choosing one out of these ‘cuz I think it is a great variety, but I did not own anything peachy yet so decided to go for it. I have not been disappointed since!
These lip balms are super clutch-friendly and I think you could even easily squeeze them into your Judith Leiber if you own one. Which if you do, please share a picture of so I could get super jealous! I like that the label on them actually rips all the way around the cap when you try and twist to open it (which took a surprising amount of effort) but this ensures that you know your product is unopened and hygienic for your use. There is that traditional roller thing at the bottom which works in twisting the product both up and down with ease. No expiry date is printed on the product. And there was no other primary packaging that this came with, so how long I could use it for is anyone’s guess!
Gluten free ingredients. No parabens. No Phthalates. No SLS. Not animal tested. No artificial flavours.
This version of the Kiss My Face lip balm has ABSOLUTELY ALL natural ingredients with not a single chemical ingredient in it. This is absolutely amazeballs. They also have a SPF 15 version of this lip balm which then obviously does come with your typical variety chemicals. Anyway all the ingredients in this lip balm are certified grown or made organically.
USD 3.50 for 5.1 gram (18 oz) of product.
My experience with the Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm in Sliced Peach:
As I mentioned the first thing that I was impressed with was the ripping of the label as I pulled the cap apart to ensure that I was the first person to use this lip balm. Too many times people test this stuff in stores and you can never be sure which product is unused. Even though this product was lying right by my windowsill for 2 weeks before I used it (so pretty close to direct sunlight) it did not feel like the product was too soft or had gotten squishy so it might break. But I have actually been keeping this is the fridge and been using this particular lip balm only at home because I do not want it to break, but also I want to keep this product cool because it has no preservatives in it! So I definitely want to elongate its shelf life as much as I possibly can. It does have beeswax in it and that stuff gets a spotty whitish growth on it when it expires so right now I am going to have to rely on smell and looks to know when it is not safe to use anymore.
The first thing that I loved about this lip balm is the smell of it! It has a very light whiff of fresh peaches which is just wonderful. Also my lips were pretty flaky dry right before I did a swatch of this, and you can just see the difference it makes immediately after application. It moisturises the lips very well and the effect of this lasts for 3-4 hours after which your lips are left super smooth and soft. As you can see in my lip swatch that it comes off transparent and not very shiny at all which I really like, because sometimes even when you just wear Vaseline it looks like your lips have been overdone with clear gloss. This product is also not very sticky which is a good point. I have never felt it to be heavy on my lips either like Vaseline which is another thing I like about this lip balm.
The good thing is that you do not need to reapply this often because even after it comes off as you eat/talk/generally smack your lips together it does all the right things to your lips to leave them soft and supple. There is no tingling sensation to this and after having used Burts Bees and the Maybelline Baby Lips I prefer this product to the others. It is smooth, soothing and moisturising going on and helps my lips stay in good shape!
Pros of the Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm in Sliced Peach:
- Made of all organic ingredients
- No chemical additives or preservatives
- Non sticky
- Lightweight to wear
- Lightweight in size
- Non glossy formula
- Smells great
- Made in ‘not-china’
Cons of the Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm in Sliced Peach:
- Wears off from the lips quickly
- No expiry date on product
- No preservatives means it will not last long, better to refrigerate it
Would I repurchase or recommend the Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm in Sliced Peach?
I would really like to try out other fragrances but probably in the version of this lip balm that has the SPF included. I love that this is a fully natural ingredient though, I do recommend it highly especially for the summer because of how light it feels on the lips, just remember to stick it in the fridge to last longer!
