The Madly Matte Lipstick is a perfect collection of bold, vivid lip colors with a marvelously matte finish. Lipsticks provide long-wearing comfort without drying lips or feathering. KleanColor presents a grand collection featuring a wide assortment of colors, ranging from muted neutrals to vivacious plums and everything else in between to help you achieve the most dramatic and versatile looks. Color stays true and pout is left incredibly sublime and enviable.
My Experience with KleanColor #20 Mai Tai Madly Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a shiny black packaging. On opening the lipstick, you see the colour-coded bullet. The packaging is good and convenient. There’s an audible click sound to indicate that the lipstick won’t come undone. It’s basic and travel-friendly.
Colour/Pigmentation: ‘Mai Tai’ is a neon milky orange. Honestly, that is the best description I could come up with. It is a bold orange and looks neon on darker skin tones, like on my skin tone when I was badly tanned. It looks a milky, peachy orange otherwise. I love the shade, but since it is a bit bold, I can’t wear it as is. I dab the lipstick on my lips for a subtle hint of orange. Pigmentation is good and you can build it up to 3-4 layers, after that it goes on patchy.
Texture: This lipstick, even though matte, is very creamy and comfortable on the lips. It doesn’t strip the moisture off your lips. It doesn’t hydrate the lips, but you can wear it for a long time without your lips feeling dry. But I do is apply a heavy duty lip balm immediately after taking a bath and then just before leaving for college, I apply this on top. That way, the lip balm has been absorbed and my lips don’t feel dry for a long time. This lipstick glides on easily without tugging. It will settle into the fine lines if you have extremely dry lips, hence exfoliate and moisturise before applying a lipstick.
Staying power: These lipsticks stay on my lips for 4 hours after which it starts to fade and looks uneven. Usually, I’ll just apply an orange lip balm when in college. But on days I’m going out, I’ll touch up after every 3 hours.
Smell: It smells like an orange cream biscuit and reminds me of my childhood. I love the fragrance and it is quite noticeable initially. But, the fragrance goes away within 15-20 seconds of application.
Summing up the pros and cons:
Pros of KleanColor #20 Mai Tai Madly Matte Lipstick:
• Convenient packaging
• Colour coded bullet
• Beautiful shade
• Creamy texture
• Doesn’t feel drying
• Yummy fragrance
Cons of KleanColor #20 Mai Tai Madly Matte Lipstick:
• Low staying power
• Looks streaky and patchy if layered on more.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase KleanColor #20 Mai Tai Madly Matte Lipstick?
If not this shade, try some other shades from this range. I like this range of lipsticks. I wouldn’t repurchase as I have quite a few shades from this range already.
