Hi lovely readers,
This is the fifth Kleancolor baked eye shadow I am reviewing and it’s part of my online haul – I purchased a bunch of cosmetics online and they performed really well for a lesser known brand and fell in the category of unsung heroes. When I say they performed well, it does not mean that every single product was worthy of praise because the one in this post was a letdown and it hurt the most because I really loved this shade. Read further to know why this product let me down.
KleanColor proudly presents wide array of shades with all time pigment-rich American Eyecon Wet/Dry Baked Shadow. The intensity of color can satisfy any color junkies’ ultimate craving. Try it on and fall for its beauty result of irresistible pigments that blends easily and lasts.
My Take on Kleancolor American Eyecon Wet Dry Baked Eyeshadow Matte Maple:
Packaging: The product is baked in a convex form in a plastic case and has a clear plastic lid. I will be honest, packaging appears cheap and is very fragile – it’s not impressive, but this is the only downside.
Texture: It is a baked eyeshadow, has a very smooth texture. It is a matte color indeed with minimal fall out, however, to incorporate these two characteristics in this product, other important features were compromised. It is extremely difficult to pick up this product on to a brush (wet or dry either way). I had to vigorously rub my fingers on the shadow dome to pick up a decent amount of product for the sake of a swatch. The intensity of the color is very feeble to be visible on my dark lids. It is also hard to blend this product and use it in combination with any other color to add more gradient to eyes.
Color: This is the only feature that I love about this product. I just adore this color – red-pink with warm undertones. It is a beautiful color for summers with n*de lip or darker lips for winters. Alas, it is a royal pain in neck to apply on my lids and is not worth trying at all.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is good if one rubs the finger vigorously on the shadow dome. Even if one manages to pick up a decent amount of product on a brush and then apply it on to the lids, the color would be hardly visible and would definitely not look like the way it looks in the pan.
Application: I used it on my lids and tried to smudge it with some other color, but when I realized all my efforts were going down the drain, I just applied a darker color on my lids and swore to never use the product in this post again.
Staying Power: If one can apply it on the lids, then it gives a good wear time – 8 to 9 hours, and maybe more.
Most of the eyeshadows in this range are good, but not this particular shade and I will probably end up tossing it out of my vanity.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Kleancolor American Eyecon Wet Dry Baked Eyeshadow Matte Maple?
No, because it way too hard to apply and blend and gives poor color payoff. I don’t recommend this particular shade from Kleancolor.
