Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Glaze Review

Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Glaze Review

Hey Gorgeous Gals,

I always find myself picking up lip products on shopping trips and even visits to the grocery or drugstore. Chapsticks, lip glosses and lipsticks are absolute necessities for me and I, almost obsessively, have to keep my lips colored and/or moisturized all the time. In any other place, this confession would be met with weird looks, but since this is IMBB, I know that a lot, if not most, of you can relate with me! Today, I will be writing about Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter which does a really good job of moisturizing lips while imparting a gorgeous color to them. It’s perfect for days when you want to give your lips a break from heavy lipsticks and sticky glosses, but don’t want to give up color or shine. So, if you are interested in such a product, do read on!

Product Background and Description:

Manufactured in Greece, Korres products are a favorite among beauty junkies for their natural ingredients and high quality. The company was founded 20 years ago by George Korres, a Greek homeopath, whose passion for natural ingredients has led to the brand’s international success. Korres offers a range of bath and beauty products and is known for its safe and effective lip butters, lip butter glazes, face creams, lotions and makeup.

According to Sephora, the exclusive beauty retailer for Korres products, this “lightweight, soothing” lip butter glaze “imparts vibrant and shiny color, smells utterly delicious, and comes packaged in an easy-application tube.” The folks at Korres say its “creamy blend of lightweight natural oils and extracts, soothe and condition lips.”

Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Glaze comes packaged in a red tube, with a black-brown twist off cap. The artwork on the tube, basically just some text, is modern and corresponds with the artwork on the Korres Wild Rose lip butter plastic tubs.

My Experience with Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Glaze:

My lips are always dry; a problem that’s only exacerbated due to my love of matte lipsticks. I picked up Korres’ Wild Rose Lip Butter to help my lips heal and recover when I wasn’t wearing lipstick – say when just hanging out at home or walking in the park. When I spotted these lip glazes at Sephora, I knew I had to get them. You see, I love the lip butters, but dipping my fingers into the tub every time I wanted to re-apply the product didn’t seem like a sanitary thing to do. I picked up the lip glaze from my favorite Korres line – Wild Rose and it’s been a permanent part of my makeup collection ever since.

To apply, I just lightly press the tube and glide the product on my lips. Unlike other products from Korres’ Wild Rose line, this does not smell like roses. Rather, it has a faint vanilla scent which is common to all of Korres’ lip glazes, regardless of the color. The glaze is non-sticky, coats the lips evenly and imparts the lips a slightly- transparent rose-red color and a whole lotta a shine. The color is buildable, but it would take a lot of layering to make the red opaque and honestly, wouldn’t be worth the effort.

The best thing about this lip glaze is that it is super moisturizing and completely non-sticky. Unlike most chapsticks, which only seal in moisture, the emollients in this lip glaze treat dry and dehydrated lips, leaving them feeling better than ever! My lips are soft and smooth all day long; although I do reapply the product when I eat or drink something and when I want more color on my lips (more about this a little later).

The faint rose-red color this imparts to lips is flattering on my NC40 skin tone, and I’m pretty sure it will look really pretty and natural on all skin tones. Even though I favor wearing lipsticks when I go out, this color looks just as good with heavily made-up eyes as it does with just mascara or kajal. This lip glaze is also amazing as a lip primer. I spread a teeny-tiny drop of the glaze on my lips about 10 minutes before I apply my lipstick, usually when I’m doing my eyes and face. It softens lips and fills up lines and makes applying lipstick so much easier. This can also be worn on top of red lipsticks as a super shiny, non-sticky and moisturizing gloss.

I don’t have any complaints with this product, just a small gripe. This would really be a miracle 3-in-1 product (lipstick, lip gloss and lip treatment) if the color just had better lasting power. Although the moisture lasts and lasts, the color starts to fade soon after application and completely disappears on me after about 2 hours! Those with less pigmented lips will get a slightly longer wear, but you can expect yourself to be re-applying this throughout the day. Overall though, this is one of the more superior lip products that I have come across.

Pros of Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Glaze:

  • Super moisturizing and heals dry, chapped lips.
  • Formulated without Parabens, GMOs and Phthalates.
  • Flattering shade for all skin tones.
  • Non-sticky, provides the shine of a lip gloss without the stickiness.
  • The tube lasts forever. I don’t even remember when I bought these!

Cons of Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter Glaze:

  • Availability, isn’t available in-stores in India.
  • Lasting Power. I wish the color would last longer; I would always wear these!
