Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial

Hey Guys!

I’ve always associated facials with applying something on your face and then washing it off a couple of minutes later. So, of course, my interest was piqued when I saw Korres’ Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial which you leave on your face overnight. I decided to try it out for myself. The sleeping facial makes some big promises, to see how it performed read on!
Product Background and Description

With their origins in Greece, Korres products are a favorite among beauty junkies for their natural ingredients and high quality. The company was founded 20 years ago by George Korres, a Greek homeopath, whose passion for natural ingredients has led to the brand’s international success. Korres offers a range of bath and beauty products and is known for its safe and effective lip butters, lip butter glazes, face creams, lotions and makeup.

This product is described as a “facial treatment” that addresses “uneven skintone and dark spots while improving skin quality for a brighter, more luminous complexion.”
Its “weightless soufflé texture melts instantly into skin. It works while you sleep to retexturize, giving you petal-soft skin by morning. It also addresses visible signs of premature aging caused by sun and environmental exposure while providing antioxidant benefits.” Furthermore it “contains 95 percent natural content and is suitable for all skin types.”

My Experience with Korres’ Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial

So, I really didn’t know what to expect with this product. I’ve never really used a product that’s specifically designed for overnight use. However, because I have loved most products from the Korres Wild Rose line, I decided this was worth a shot. I have combination skin, which is dry in some places and oily and acne-prone in others. As I always say, this makes me perfect for testing out products! My expectations from this facial were that it should even out my skin tone. Because I have acne-prone skin, wrinkles aren’t really a worry (oily skin gets wrinkles later). Furthermore, since the product doesn’t offer any anti-acne benefits, didn’t expect those either. Simply put, I just wanted to see brighter skin and faded acne marks. To put it to the test, I’ve worn it to bed every night (pretty religiously) for the past 4 weeks.

The first thing I noticed about this facial is its super-strong smell. While the other products from the Wild Rose line have pretty pleasant rose scents, this was simply overpowering. How overpowering? It reminds me of agarbattis (incense sticks). The good news is that the smell fades away and won’t interfere with your sleep :). Every time I apply this, I’m a little taken aback by how it feels on my skin. When you first apply it, it doesn’t seem to provide any moisture to the skin. My skin feels very matte immediately following its application. Initially, this made me somewhat skeptical of how the cream would perform, but the seeing results in the morning made me change my mind about it completely! I wake up to smoother, brighter and more even-looking skin each morning. The best part is that even the dry areas of my face feel soft, supple and hydrated. The oily parts of my skin don’t look shiny at all — this actually helps control oil too. Overall, I’m super pleased with how my skin looks each morning after using this. Whoever came up with the term “beauty sleep” must have been using this too!
Over 4 weeks, I’ve noticed some lightening of scars and evening out of my skin tone. However, this is not a miracle product, as it will not make your scars vanish overnight. It has helped me lighten some newer scars quite a bit and has lightened older ones enough for me to see a change in about a month. The best effect of the product, though, is that it resurfaces the skin. I wake up each morning to skin that feels smoother than the day before. Pores are smaller and tighter, tiny bumps smoothed out and dry flakes banished. My skin actually feels plump to the touch; the only other time its felt this plump is when I used a product with retinol in it. It really is amazing!

While the cream does not prevent breakouts, it does help prevent scarring and speeds up healing time. My skin breaks out just as often as it did before I started using this, but the breakouts vanish way faster (usually one night or two at most) than they did before. It also does a really great job at keeping the pimples from scarring my skin. If this prevented breakouts, it would be the ideal product for my skin – for day or night use. As it performs right now, it actually does come really close to being an HG night cream. I will definitely be repurchasing this over and over again!
