Hello everyone.

I would have surely never picked up a Kryolan product if IMBB wouldn’t have published  reviews about the brand. I think this cake eyeliner and Kryolan TV paint stick are as old as back to 2007, when I knew nothing about make-up and may be owned not more than few lipsticks which were used occasionally and then suddenly I had to visit a parlour for my sis’s wedding and that’s when I saw them being used on me for the first time. Even after so many years, I am pathetic at eyeliner application just because I don’t practice it. I have got busy and lazy too. Anyways, lets move on to the review.

My take on Kryolan Aqua Color Cake Eyeliner-Black:

Packaging: The Kryolan Aqua Cake Eyeliner has always comes in the same small plastic tub. It closes tightly and no travel issues with the packaging. The packaging is simple, nothing fancy yet acceptable.

The product is basically powder eyeliner, jet black as it looks and totally matte, pressure compacted in the packaging tub. The method to use it is that wet your brush and drop off the excess water from the bristles. Then swipe it on the cake eyeliner sufficiently and apply a line as per your required thickness. For the performance, it is not very quick setting so you have sufficient time to correct the mistakes. This makes it really good for the beginners to practice eyeliner application, like I do. If even you have got a complete wrong line, you can wipe it off with a wet sponge wedge or wet sponge applicator and redo without trouble.

The issue is that it requires practice and experience to determine the right amount of water for the brush. Excess water gives less intensity of eyeliner and makes it watery. Even with ideal water content, it isn’t very jet black and comes out total matte and I like my eyeliner to have a slight sheen like gel and felt tip liners give. The solution to the intensity problem is to purchase Kryolan Cake Eye Liner Sealer ($7.5) and use it instead of water to wet the brush. I have heard it gives a real intense jet black color to the eyeliner and makes it water proof, smudge proof and long lasting. I have also tried it using with rose-water and there was nothing significant with the results. When used with water, it lasts no more than 4 hours and if you have oily eyelids, expect not more than 3 hours of wear ability. It smudges with water splashes and sweats, comes off on rubbing wet and is not waterproof. It also contains Parabens. I think this is good for beginners and for those who use eyeliners not so often and their gel eyeliners tend to dry out fast. Such people can benefit from the product as it will last you till years.

• Not fast drying so forgiving for mistakes.
• Can be removed with wet sponge and reapplied.
• Large quantity for very few bucks.

Cons of Kryolan Aqua Color Cake Eyeliner-Black:

• Contains Parabens!
• Practice and expertise required for correct water content in the brush.
• Not intense color payoff; for this you have to buy the sealer.
• Not very long lasting.
• Not water proof and smudges on sweaty days and oily eyelids.
• Not a HG sort of eyeliner.

Recommendation and repurchase of Kryolan Aqua Color Cake Eyeliner-Black:

This is may be never going to end for me. I will recommend this to beginners and those who rarely use eyeliner and hate their gel eyeliners dry fast and go waste without utilization.
