After spending the last year obsessing over lipsticks, this year I decided to concentrate on eye shadows. I have picked a few mono eye shadows as well as some palettes in the last few months. Today’s review is all about one such bright palette from Kryolan. Read the review to know more about it.

My Experience with Kryolan Eyeshadow Variety 18 Colours V2:

Packaging: The palette comes in a classic blue Kryolan paper cover. The palette is a sleek, silver one that shuts tightly and fits easily in any bag. It has a large full-sized mirror and a synthetic applicator brush. Also, the palette is separated from the mirror with a plastic palette kind of thing which unlike the plastic sheet coverings does not go missing or slip away. The brush is useful to pack color on the lid as it is quite dense. Overall, the packaging is simple and travel-friendly.

Finish and Texture: All eye shadows in this palette have matte texture. The pigments are super-fine and have a buttery smoothness. They never feel chalky and cakey on the eyes. When you pick the color with a brush, you may see a little kick up, but that is nothing unusual.

Blendability and Pigmentation: These shadows are super pigmented and the color shows up as you see in the pan. The pigmentation is insane. They blend effortlessly with a few strokes without losing the color intensity. The shadows blend into each other seamlessly without looking muddy and do not leave harsh lines. The product is definitely user-friendly and great for beginners. In most of the hand swatches, the shades are as you can see, giving full coverage. The lighter shades are a little sheer at times. However, a second layer covers it up completely.

Shades: The palette is a great choice for all who love bright, tropical colors on the eyes. It has vibrant shades of blue, green, yellow, violet and red in it. The palette looks like rainbow in the box. If you love creating bright eye looks using sunset colors or tropical greens and blues, you will definitely love the palette. You can mix the shades to get own customized shade. Also, scrapes of the color can be fixed to media like duraline to get create colored eyeliner.

There are 3 rows of colors each with six colors. I have swatched them row by row from left to right and described the shades in that order only.

Top Row:

1. A super pale bluish green kind of color. You can use it all over the lid at first if you are creating a blue based eye look.
2. A pale milky green shade.
3. A beautiful tropical green color tat looks great on all skin tone and looks soothing.
4. A bluish green color that resembles the sea.
5. This is a lavender blue or purplish blue shade.
6. This is a deeper purplish blue that can be used with shade 5 to create an ombre effect.

Middle Row:
1. A pale blue color.
2. A perfect tropical sky blue shade.
3. This is a bright royal blue shade.
4. It is a deeper grayish blue shade.
5. A beautiful plum/violet shade.
6. A reddish purple shade that is lighter than shade 5.

Bottom Row:
1. A very pale yellow shade.
2. A not so vibrant yellow shade.
3. Biscuit/ light cream shade.
4. Pale orange shade.
5. Peachy pink shade.
6. Muted red shade.

I do not have any complain about the first two rows. But, I wish that the bottom row shades were a little brighter than they are.

Staying Power: On my super oily lid, without any primer, the colors stayed intact for 5-6 hours. I was not expecting such performance in this summer. It did not look muddy. There was no creasing wither. The intensity did not look dull at all. I am in love with the quality.

Overall, I love everything about the palette. It is expensive and it performs like any high-end palette. I love using it and will definitely use it pretty often.
