I love creating colorful makeup looks and colored gel liners make such looks much more vibrant. When I want eyeshadows to pop on my dark lids, a good colored base is a must. I did not want to invest in many of them and thus decided to go for base colors. Along with a black and a rose gold shade, I bought a red, a blue and a yellow too. In this post, I will be reviewing the shade “Sky Blue” from the HD Cream Liner range.

My Experience with Kryolan HD Cream Liner Sky Blue:
Packaging: The product comes in a small, frosted glass pot with a grey Kryolan logo embossed cap. The outer packaging is a grey paper box that has all details written on it. As the pot is transparent, you can see the color easily and choose the one you need. However the frosted finish does not allow you to understand the exact shade from outside. It can be carried around easily in your makeup bag. However, considering the price, I expected it to come with a brush.
Color: When I was looking for a blue liner, I wanted the deep black-blue one that will remind people of the sky. Now, Kryolan has a very famous shade “Lapis Lazuli,” which is the exact deep blue that I wanted, but that was unavailable and I had to settle with a lighter shade of blue. This is a bright, light blue shade, it is not milky or pale. This is a vibrant, pastel kind of shade that will remind you of the tropical sky.
Texture/Consistency/Pigmentation: This cream liner has an absolutely creamy and soft texture that blends out amazingly well. It feels super smooth on the eyes. I am not very used to such soft, creamy liners, so creating a perfect line in one stroke is a little tough for me. But with the right brush and application technique, I am hoping to master the art soon.
This shade is a little pale compared to black and red liners of this range. It needs 2-3 strokes to come as a perfect line. The color gets easier to work with when I mix it with Inglot Duraline and it looks bolder. It can be blended on the lids as a great blue eye shadow base. You can use it under eyeshadows to make them pop with intense color. It covers the lids perfectly and is great even for pigmented eyes. It feels soft on the lids and does not feel too dry and cakey.
Staying Power: Once set, it stays on forever. It is creamy and won’t feel too dry, which is the best think about the formula, but even with the creamy finish, it is waterproof and smudge-proof. This is the kind of thing that you will love for your party makeup and when you are using DSLRs to click your pictures. This will look flawless even in very close shots. It also does not become flaky. I applied it in the afternoon and at night it looked freshly applied. Removing it can be challenging. You will need a good oil-based remover to remove it without much tugging.
I am glad that I bought this color. I have recently spotted lapis lazuli in a shop. So will buy and review it too.
