Kryolan Illusion Velours Review

I love experimenting with innovative makeup products and this is one such pick. I was looking for a cream highlighter for long and this one looked pretty promising. Read the detailed review to know more about the product and my opinion regarding it.

My Experience with Kryolan Illusion Velours:

Packaging: The product comes in a beautiful, blue paper carton and the squared shaped, transparent, glass pot with a grey lid is placed inside it. The packaging all over looks pretty brilliant and classy. I generally throw away outer cartons, but may retain this one. It has all product details mentioned on it. The grey lid has the usual Kryolan logo. The see through pot allows you to check the color and the remaining amount. Overall, I am pretty impressed with it.

The color is a beautiful pinkish red with a hint of golden in it. There is no prominent shimmer in the product. But I guess minute golden particles are mixed in it which shows up its shine when it is applied. As you apply it on the cheek, it looks like a bronzy highlighter with a reddish glow in it. It suits my skin tone amazingly well. The color can be a little too deep for fair to medium skin tone.

The product has a balm kind of consistency. It is a soft cream which I prefer not scooping out. As you run your finger over the cream, it melts to a certain extend due to the heat and you can pick the melted layer with your finger. You can repeat the process if you need more. I think the amount of product that you get in two attempts is enough for highlighting the cheekbones. I prefer blending it with my fingers instead of blending it with sponge or brush. It evens out easily and the color is buildable too. So instead of applying too much at one go, you can layer it up and build the color gradually.

It can be used as a highlighter or over the blush to add some shine. I love topping it on my cream blushes. I also love using it on my lipsticks to add a unique look. I have added it on Ruby Woo in the swatch and this is my most favorite lip swatch till date.

It feels lightweight on the skin. It never clogs pores or make it patchy. It does not melt with sweat either. Once set it stays put for 8-9 hours. If you want it to last longer, you can top it with powder. It is easily removed with makeup removers.

I am in love with the color, texture and uniqueness of the product. I was looking for a cream highlighter for long and this one has satisfied me completely.
